5.3. How far can I cycle?
You will find an estimate of the remaining range on one of the display screens.
In the screen with remaining range, press
assist level. Use this to make your own estimate of which level is best for your trip.
The actual range of the e-bike depends on many factors, for example:
Ҍ Assist level.
Ҍ Speed.
Ҍ Gear use.
Ҍ Type of tyres and tyre pressure.
Ҍ Age and state of repair of the battery.
Ҍ Route (inclines) and surface (road surface type).
Ҍ Headwind and ambient temperature.
Ҍ Weight of the e-bike, cyclist and baggage.
Because of all these factors, it is not possible to determine exactly how far you can cycle with the
current battery level in advance. In general, the following applies:
- The less effort you must exert to reach a certain speed, the less energy the e-bike needs
and the greater the cycling range will be.
- The lower you set the assist level, the greater the cycling range will be.
5.4. Checks before use
CAUTION
6
Before each journey, check that:
Ҍ the bell and lighting operate correctly and are firmly attached.
Ҍ the brakes operate correctly.
Ҍ the brake levers are adjusted correctly. If you can squeeze the lever all the way to the
handgrip, there is air or a leak in the brake line. Do not use the e-bike and have the brake line
bled or repaired by an approved e-bike specialist.
Ҍ the tyres and rims are free of damage and the wheels can turn unimpeded.
Ҍ the tyres are pumped to the correct pressure. Insufficient tyre pressures lead to more rapid
tyre wear, reduced grip and higher energy consumption of the e-bike system.
Ҍ there is no sharp debris in the treads of the tyres that may puncture the tyres.
Ҍ the front fork suspension operates correctly and the front fork is firmly attached.
Ҍ all bolts, nuts and quick releases are tight.
Ҍ there are no deformations, cracks or damage in the frame or front fork.
Ҍ the stem and handlebars are correctly and firmly attached and the handlebars are at the
correct height and angle.
Ҍ the seatpost and saddle are correctly and firmly attached and the saddle is at the correct
height and angle.
The above checks should also be carried out after a collision/crash. Do not use the bicycle if a
part no longer functions correctly or is broken/deformed.
