11.3. Safety instructions for loading the wheelchair

11.3.1. Loading without a ramp or lifting platform in a folded state

• Load the Erivo in a folded state with the help of an accompany person.
• Switch off the Erivo (see chapter 5.2).
• Remove the battery pack (see chapter 4.1) in order to prevent the Erivo being switched on unintentionally.
• Activate electric motor operation of the wheels (see chapter 2.1) in order to prevent the wheels rolling away inadvertently.
• Ensure that the Erivo is completely folded together and cannot be pulled apart without actuating the lever [8] (see chapter 11.2).
• When loading or unloading the Erivo, never hold it by its two armrests as the armrests cannot be locked (Risk of crushing!).
• Never hold the Erivo by parts of the leg support, as such parts cannot be locked (Risk of crushing!).

11.3.2. Loading using a ramp or lifting platform in an unfolded state by an accompanying person

• Switch off the Erivo (see chapter 5.2).
• Activate push mode for the wheels (see chapter 2.4).
• When pushing, remain a sufficient distance from the edges of the ramp or lifting platform.
• Only use ramps and lifting platforms with a suitable load-bearing capacity.
• Only load the Erivo using a ramp/lifting platform if you are able to operate it safely in accordance with the manufacturer's specifica-
tions.

11.3.3. Loading using a ramp or lifting platform in an unfolded state by the wheelchair user

• Navigate a ramp/lifting platform with extreme care and do so only at the lowest speed.
• With regard to a lifting platform: Keep a sufficient distance away from the edge of the lifting platform.
• Do not attempt any turning manoeuvres on a ramp.
• Only use ramps and lifting platforms with a suitable load-bearing capacity.
• Only load the Erivo using a ramp/lifting platform if you are able to operate it safely in accordance with the manufacturer's specifica-
tions.
