Observe the following points after your trip with the Erivo:
• Switch off the Erivo when not in use to prevent inadvertently triggering travel impulses when the joystick is touched and to prevent
the self-discharge of the battery pack.
• If possible, recharge the battery pack of your Erivo after each trip.

3.4. Special safety instructions for travelling uphill, downhill and on ramps

In order to achieve maximum wheelchair stability and thus maximum user safety, we recommend the following sitting posture when travelling:
Travelling on level ground
and on slopes
It is also imperative that the following points be observed:
10
• The maximum user weight is 150 kg.
• It is only permitted to travel on slopes and inclines that do not exceed 6 degrees. Never travel on slopes that exceed the nominal incline.
• Travel on slopes and inclines, particularly ramps, only at a low and situation-appropriate speed.
• Avoid navigating tight corners on slopes and inclines.
• In particular, do not attempt any turns on ramps.
• Avoid navigating long ramps and especially uneven terrain, in order to reduce the risk of a motor defect.
• The ability of your Erivo to navigate inclines is affected by, among other factors, your weight, speed and angle of approach to the incline.
• Note the sitting posture shown above, especially the sitting posture applicable to inclines and ramps.

3.5. Obstacles

• The maximum permitted obstacle height is 3 cm.
• Attention! Move towards an obstacle slowly and carefully until the Erivo wheels touch the obstacle. Once you reach this point, negoti-
ate the obstacle carefully. It is up to you to decide whether to enlist the help of another person.

3.6. Hazardous areas and hazardous situations

• The wheelchair user must decide in each case whether it is safe to navigate the intended route based on factors such as their skill level
and their physical strength.
• Before undertaking a trip, check the Erivo wheels for damaged or deflated tyres. Also, check the charge status of the battery pack and
that the warning signal (horn) on the control unit is working correctly.
• These safety checks and the personal experience of the wheelchair user are of particular importance in or near the following hazardous
areas, the navigation of which is left to the judgement and risk of the Erivo user:
- Quay walls, berths and marinas, paths and areas near water, bridges and dykes without railings
- Narrow footpaths, gradients (e.g. ramps and driveways), narrow paths along slopes, mountain paths
– Narrow and/or steep/inclined paths along main and side roads or near precipices
- Paths covered with leaves, snow or ice
- Ramps and lifting equipment on vehicles
- Paved paths/roads
When cornering or turning the wheelchair on slopes or inclines, the centre of gravity of the wheelchair may be
shifted leading to a risk of the wheelchair tipping over to the side. As such, proceed with extreme caution and
reduce your speed.
Particular caution is required when crossing roads, crossroads and level crossings. Never cross rail tracks in roads
or at level crossings by travelling parallel to them, as the castors of the wheelchair could get stuck in the rails.
