General notes on safety

Before you do any work with the
electric chainsaw, make yourself
familiar with all operating parts.
Practise using the saw (sawing logs
on a sawhorse) and get an experi-
enced user or a specialist to explain
to you the function of the saw, the
way of working, the techniques of
sawing and the personal protection
equipment.
Observe noise control and local
regulations.
Caution! When using power tools,
observe the following basic safety
measures for the prevention of

General safety instructions

Observe noise protection rules and
other local regulations when cutting
wood.
Local regulations may require a suitability
test. Check with the forestry administration.
Caution! Read the following safety
information to prevent personal inju-
ry and damage to property:
• This petrol chainsaw may not be used
by children, adolescents and individuals
with reduced physical, sensory or men-
tal abilities.
• Children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the device.
• If you are tired or ill or have consumed
alcohol, tablets or drugs, do not work
with the chainsaw. Always have a
break on time.
• When working, always wear suitable
work clothes that allow freedom of mo-
vement. This includes a safety helmet,
ear protectors, protective goggles or
face shield, gloves with cut protection,
safety shoes with cut protection and a
firm sole and protective trousers with
saw protection.
• Dust may be generated when sawing
dry wood. Wear a suitable dust mask.
• When lubricating the chain, a light tra-
ce of oil forms due to the escaping oil.
Pay attention to the wind direction and
do not expose yourself unnecessarily to
such lubricating oil mist.
• The chainsaw is designed for two-han-
ded operation. Never work one-handed
or above shoulder height.
