• Always put the seat and backrest into an upright position when you
are driving the wheelchair.
• Use on slopes is only permitted when the seat and backrest are in
an upright position.
• At low ambient temperatures, the metal parts of the wheelchair can
get very cold, so please avoid skin contact if this is the case.
• Avoid driving into obstacles without braking (furniture, steps or
similar items).
• Always switch the control unit off whenever you are getting on or
off the chair.
• Upholstery parts may heat up in direct sunlight. Therefore protect
your power wheelchair from direct sunlight, in order to avoid skin
injuries.
• The seating upholstery and pads' materials meet the flammability
resistance requirements in accordance with EN 1021-2. Therefore
do not expose the upholstery or pads or any other parts to ignition
sources - such as, for example, cigarettes.
Protect the wheelchair from sunlight to avoid
burns caused by heated components
• If you should notice your power wheelchair behaving unusually or if
it is damaged, stop using it and contact your dealer.
Reporting incidents. The operator or user must immediately report
1. any malfunction
2. any change to the features or performance as well as
3. Immediately report any improper labelling or instructions for use of
a medical device that have or could have led to the death or seri-
ous deterioration of the health of a patient, an employee or a third
party to your competent regional authority for medical devices. This
institute will immediately forward the notification to the operator's
competent authority and also inform the manufacturer and the manu-
facturer's competent authority.

2.2. Safety in vehicles

To see whether your wheelchair is permitted for use as a seat in a
vehicle for transporting individuals with impaired mobility or not, you
can refer to the sticker next to the type plate on the wheelchair:
• Wheelchair is designed for use as a seat in a vehicle for
transporting individuals with impaired mobility (Fig. A)
• Wheelchair is not designed for use as a seat in a vehicle for
transporting individuals with impaired mobility (Fig. B)
If your wheelchair is not designed to be used as a seat in a vehicle,
under no circumstances must it be used as such. It does not fulfil the
requirements in compliance with ISO 7176-19. Failure to observe
this instruction can lead to extremely serious or fatal injuries in the
event of an accident.

All Bischoff & Bischoff products which have been approved as seating
in vehicles have been tested in compliance with ISO 7176-19. Tests in
compliance with ISO 7176-19 have been carried out with AMF-Bruns
restraint systems.
By fitting a restraint system, the wheelchair can be used as a vehicle
seat.
The correct fitting of the restraint system to this wheelchair is a pre-
requisite for safe transport of products in a vehicle for transporting
individuals with impaired mobility (KMP) and is the basis for the ap-
proval. You can see the fixing points on the restraint system in Fig. A.
AMF-Bruns restraint systems provide tie down points (Fig. A) for fixing
the products in the vehicle for transporting individuals with impaired
mobility. The products must only be fixed to these tie downs for re-
straint in vehicles for transporting individuals with impaired mobility. If
possible, use a permanently installed car seat and its belt system. Stow
the wheelchair in the boot. Those individuals responsible for the trans-
portation should be familiar with the current legislation for transport
as well as with the operation of the vehicle and its restraint system.
Four-point restraint systems must be used to secure the wheelchair to
the vehicle.
