Switching off individual
cooking zones
CAUTION

The appliance and its accessible parts
become hot during use.
■ After use, switch off the hob element
using its regulating and/or controlling
devices. Do not rely on the pan detec-
tor. Never try to switch off the appli-
ance by removing the cookware from
the cooking zone/area. Otherwise,
the cooking zone/area will be reacti-
vated as soon as a pot or other ob-
ject made of ferromagnetic metal is
placed on it.
■ Metallic objects such as knives, forks,
spoons and lids should not be placed
on the hob surface since they can get
hot.
1. Use the sensor field (5) to select the ac-
tive cooking zone.
2. Press the "-" sensor (11) (multiple times
in a row if necessary) or simultaneously
press the "+" sensor (10) and "-" sensor
until the heat setting "0" indicator is dis-
played

Switching off the appliance

• Press the On/Off (8) sensor to switch off
the entire appliance.
You will hear an acoustic signal, and all of
the indicator lights with the exception of the
residual heat symbols "
H
" " will go out. The
residual heat symbols "
flash as long as the cooking zones are hot.

Automatic protection settings

The appliance has a number of safety fea-
tures to prevent it from being damaged during
operation. If the hob is properly installed and
used, these protection settings will rarely be
used.
Automatic reduction in
performance
The temperature of the electronic elements
inside the appliance are continuously meas-
ured by a sensor.
If the elements become too hot, the appliance
will automatically switch off.

Operating time limit

For safety reasons, each cooking zone is pro-
vided with an operating time limit. If the heat
setting is not changed for a prolonged peri-
od of time, the cooking zone is automatically
switched off and the residual heat symbol "
is activated.
The maximum operating time is set in accord-
ance with the most recently selected heat
setting.
