For your safety

Intended use

The appliance is suitable for cooking
and frying foods. It is not suitable for
other purposes, e.g. for heating rooms.
The appliance is designed for use in
private households and is not designed
for commercial use or multiple use (e.g.:
use by several families in an apartment
building).
The appliance is intended to be fi tted in
a kitchen worktop or similar fi xture. En-
sure that the appliance is properly fi xed
in place. Never use adhesives or glue to
fi x the appliance in place.
If the supply cord is damaged, it must
be replaced by the manufacturer, its
service agent or similarly qualifi ed per-
sons in order to avoid a hazard.
Persons who are unable to operate the
appliance safely due to their physical,
sensory or mental abilities or lack of
knowledge must be supervised during
use.
Do not make any technical changes to
the appliance.
Use the appliance exclusively as de-
scribed in this user manual. Any other
use will be deemed to be improper and
may lead to damage to property or
even injury to persons. The manufac-
turer accepts no liability for damage
caused by improper use.

Safety notices

In this chapter you will fi nd general
safety instructions which you must al-
ways observe for your own protection
and that of third parties. Please also ob-
serve the warning notices in the individ-
ual chapters on operation, set-up, etc.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Touching live parts may result in severe
injury or death.
■ Only use the appliance indoors. Do
not use in wet rooms or in the rain.
■ Do not operate or continue to oper-
ate the appliance, if it
– shows visible signs of damage – for
example, a defective connection
cable;
– starts smoking or there is a burning
smell;
– it makes unusual sounds.
In such cases, switch off the circuit
breakers/unscrew fuses and contact
our service center (see "Service" on
page EN-29).
■ Connection to the mains supply may
only be made by an authorised elec-
trician approved by the local ener-
gy supply company (see "Service"
on page EN-29). Only then will you
benefi t from our warranty and suffi -
cient security. Unauthorised persons
may not establish a connection to
the power supply. You can endanger
your life and that of subsequent us-
ers! This also applies to disconnection
from the power supply and disman-
tling the old appliance.
