CAUTION
Fire hazard!
During use the appliance becomes hot.
The cooking zones/areas get very hot
during operation.
■ The cooking process has to be super-
vised. A short term cooking process
has to be supervised continuously.
Risk of burns!
During use the appliance becomes hot.
The cooking zones/areas get very hot
during operation and will remain hot
even after they are switched off; this is
signalled by the residual heat indicator.
■ Caution in the event of a power cut:
residual heat may not be indicated.
■ Care should be taken to avoid touch-
ing heating elements. Always protect
hands with oven gloves or pot holders
when working on the hot appliance.
Only use dry oven gloves or pothold-
ers. Wet textiles are better heat con-
ductors and can cause steam burns.
■ After use, switch off the hob element
by its control and do not rely on the
pan detector.
■ Always switch off the cooking zone/
area yourself if you wish to stop a
cooking process. Cancelling the cook-
ing time limit does not end the cook-
ing process itself.
■ Do not leave the appliance unattend-
ed during use.
■ Keep children less than 8 years of age
away from the appliance unless they
are under constant supervision.
For your safety
■ Metallic objects such as knives, forks,
spoons and lids should not be placed
on the hob surface since they can get
hot.
■ Never sit on the appliance.
■ Allow the appliance to cool complete-
ly before cleaning.
Exception: Remove sugary or starchy
contaminants, plastic or aluminium
foil from the hot glass ceramic imme-
diately using a standard sharp scrap-
er. While doing so, protect hands from
burns with oven gloves or pot holders.
Health hazard!
Acrylamide may be carcinogenic.
Acrylamide is produced when starch is
exposed to excessive heat, e.g. in pota-
toes (fries, chips), biscuits, toast, bread
etc.
■ Keep cooking times as short as pos-
sible.
■ Only brown the food slightly, do not
allow it to brown too much.
■ When frying potatoes using raw po-
tato discs or frying potato fritters in
a frying pan, it is better to use mar-
garine (with a minimum fat content
of 80 %) or oil with a little margarine
instead of pure oil.
The appliance generates a magnet-
ic fi eld that could disrupt medical im-
plants.
■ Ask your doctor about any possible
effects on implants, e.g. pacemakers
or defi brillators.
