For your safety
■ Do not leave pot/pan handles stick-
ing out over the edge of the worktop;
this ensures children cannot reach up
and pull down the cookware.
Risks for certain groups of people
CAUTION
Danger to children and persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental
abilities (e.g. people with disabilities
to some extent, older persons with im-
paired physical and mental abilities)
or who lack experience and knowledge
(e.g. older children).
■ This appliance can be used by chil-
dren aged from 8 years and above
and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack
of experience and knowledge if they
have been given supervision or in-
struction concerning use of the ap-
pliance in a safe way andunderstand
the hazards involved.
■ Children shall not play with the appli-
ance.
■ Cleaning and user maintenance shall
not be made by children without su-
pervision.
■ The appliance and its accessible parts
become hot during use. Care should
be taken to avoid touching heating
elements. Children less than 8 years
of age shall be kept away unless con-
tinuously supervised.
Risks when handling the
appliance
WARNING
Fire hazard!
■ Unattended cooking on a hob with
fat or oil can be dangerous and may
result in fire. NEVER try to extinguish
a fire with water, but switch off the
appliance and the cover flame e.  g.
with an lid or a fire blanket.
■ If you are preparing food with alco-
hol, do not leave the cooker unat-
tended! Food may ignite own its own.
■ In the event of a fi re, immediately
switch off the appliance and switch
off the automatic circuit breakers
and/or unscrew the fuses. To extin-
guish the fi re, use a suitable fi re extin-
guisher labelled "F" or a fi re blanket.
■ Once the fi re has been extinguished,
have the appliance checked by our
service center (see "Service" on
page EN-29).
■ Do not store items on the cooking
surfaces.
■ Use only hob guards designed by the
manufacturer of the cooking appli-
ance or indicated by the manufactur-
er of the appliance in the instructions
for use as suitable or hob guards in-
corporated in the appliance. The use
of inappropriate guards can cause
accidents.
■ Do not cover the appliance with blan-
kets, cloths or similar, as these objects
may become hot and catch fi re.
■ If the cooling fan is defective, the ap-
pliance can quickly overheat. The ap-
pliance can be further damaged by
this and fl ammable objects that are
