Important
The insulation resistance is crucial for piezoelectric transducers; it should be no

greater than 10
To obtain this value, all the plug connections have to be kept thoroughly clean.
A positive or negative signal drift of the output signal indicates insufficient
insulation resistance.
The plug connection contacts should therefore be cleaned with a clean,
lint‐free cloth (e.g. Non‐woven pad, HBM order no. 1-8402.0026) and
isopropanol, e.g. with IPA200 from RS Components. The cleaning agents used
to clean SG measuring points are not suitable!

S Protect the device from direct contact with water.
S Protect the device from moisture and weather such as rain or snow. The
degree of protection according to DIN EN 60529 is IP65 when all cables are
connected and unused connections are fitted with protective caps.
S Do not expose the device to direct sunlight
S The device connection cables must only be installed inside buildings, and
must not exceed 30 m in length.
S The temperature has little effect on the output signal, see also Chapter 9.4
"Thermal influences", Page 34.

Ambient temperature

The temperature has little effect on the output signal. Temperature‐related
measurement errors can be caused by cooling or heating on one side, e.g. by
radiant heat.
