Only a non-electrical extension/spring arm combination can be mounted to the lower
mounting post.
9.3.1
Remove/unscrew the following elements from the 360° mounting pin.
1.
T-handle grip (1/Fig. 22)
9.3.2
Remove all 3 screws (5/Fig. 22) in order to carefully remove the safety ring (6/Fig. 22) and
both washers (7,8/Fig. 22) from the mounting pin (10/Fig. 22).
9.3.3
Carefully, remove the protection cap from the mounting pin (10/Fig. 22).
9.3.4
Mount the extension/spring arm combination onto the 360° mounting pin (10/Fig. 22).

Ensure the below assembly is properly mounted in the correct order. A structural failure
of the arm assembly could result in operator or patient injury.

9.3.6
Apply Loctite
270 to the 3 set screws (5/Fig. 22) and secure the safety ring (6/Fig. 22) onto the

9.3.8
Slide the cover ring (4/Fig. 22) onto the switch cam (11/Fig. 22).
9.3.9
Apply Loctite
243 to the T-handle grip (1/Fig. 22) and tighten it with the nut (2/Fig. 22) to
®
the switch cam (11/Fig. 22).
9.3.10
Remove the arm cover (9/Fig. 22) from the ceiling column shipping carton. Use this cover
instead of the arm cover supplied with the Portegra2 extension/suspension.
9.3.11
Place the speed nut (13/Fig. 22) on the screw hole tab of the the arm cover. Attach the two halves

Make sure that the cover's screws (12/Fig. 22). are not screwed too tight, stripping the
thread of the cover. Replace the cover if the screw hole has been stripped.

Insert and tighten the mounting screw (12/Fig. 22) into the thread provided.
