When installing and adjusting the Portegra2 and/or associated components, ensure
to cut off the power supply to the entire system. Danger of Death!
NOTE: Connect the electrical cable of the cable spooler properly to the carriage/column unit, before
sliding the ceiling column with carriage into the track system. For details, see drawings (page 10).
4.2.1
Remove the mounted cable spooler or end plate (2/Fig.4) from the ceiling track by loosening
the screws (1/Fig. 4) that secure it to the ceiling track.
!
Ensure the front side cover (with cable spooler) will not fall from the ceiling track
when the last screw is removed.
4.2.2
Remove the small plastic plate (3/Fig. 5) on the top of the carriage by removing the screws (4/Fig. 5).
NOTE:
Store the small plastic plate (3/Fig. 5) and the screws (4/Fig. 5) in a safe place, for later use.
4.2.3
Remove the plastic cap from the carriage (5a/Fig. 5) that points toward the cable spooler from
the carriage using a screwdriver.
4.2.4
With the help of a second person, pull the electrical cable from the cable spooler and secure it
against unintentional retraction.
!
If the electrical cable is not secured, the cable will retract and the cable drum will
completely unwind itself, loosing its preset spring tension. If that occurs, please
remove the unit and replace it with a new cable spooler.
4.2.5
Push the cable through the hole (6/Fig. 5) that leads to the connection clamp on the carriage
and complete the electrical connections according to „Layout Carriage" (Fig. 5).
4.2.6
Secure the cable with the tension relief screwed into the carriage (7/Fig. 5).
4.2.7
Inspect the electrical connection to ensure its correctness.
4.2.8
Tighten the relief cap (5b/Fig.5) on the cable coming from the cable spooler to the carriage.
4.2.9
Mount the small plastic plate (3/Fig. 5) again to the top of the carriage using the screws (4/Fig. 5).
4.2.10
Remove the cardboard that prevents an unintentional retraction of the cable.
