Only a non-electrical extension/spring arm combination can be mounted to the lower
mounting post.
9.2.1
Loosen the 3 set screws (1/Fig. 21) and carefully slide the locking ring (2/Fig. 21) off the
mounting post (3/Fig. 21).
9.2.2
Remove the lock screw (4/Fig. 21) from the locking ring (2/Fig. 21).
9.2.3
Remove the protective cap from the mounting post (3/Fig. 21).
Store screws (1,4/Fig. 21), locking ring (2/Fig. 21) and both washers (5,6/Fig. 21) for re-use.
NOTE: If the two plastic halves of the arm cover (7/Fig. 21) are already connected, gently separate them.

Connect the end of the safety chain (8/Fig. 21) with the locking ring (2/Fig. 21).

Apply Loctite

Mount the locking ring (2/Fig. 21) with the two washers (5,6/Fig. 21) on the 360° mounting post.

Remove the arm cover (7/Fig. 21) from the ceiling column shipping carton. Use this instead of
the arm cover supplied with the Portegra2 extension/suspension.
9.2.11
Place the speed nut (10/Fig. 21) on the screw hole tab of the the arm cover. Attach the two

When mounting or removing covers again, be very careful as the snaps can break off.
This can cause the covers not to stay in place, and can fall on patient during procedures.

Make sure that the cover's screws (9/Fig. 21). are not screwed too tight, stripping the
thread of the cover. Replace the cover if the screw hole has been stripped.
9.2.14
Insert and tighten the mounting screw (9/Fig. 21) into the thread provided.
