BIOSEC
H O M E D E H Y D R A T O R
Does BIOSEC emit humidity into my house, causing mould?
Under normal room ventilation conditions, the amount of air disposed of by
EN
the BIOSEC does not lead to any kind of problem with build-up, mould or
expelled moisture.
Are the materials used to manufacture my BIOSEC safe and certified?
Does the plastic contain BPA or phthalates?
BIOSEC is made with the best materials for food use and the plastic models
are free from BPA and phthalates which cannot in any case become harmful
at the operating temperature of a dehydrator. All components are CE
certified for food use and our offices will be happy to send you a copy of the
documents to guarantee the complete safety and suitability of our products.
Can I use the BIOSEC outside?
Can I use it in enclosed spaces?
BIOSEC does not like atmospheric agents and exposure to direct sunlight.
For correct use of the dehydrator, it is best kept in a shaded area that is not
excessively damp (not in bathrooms, cellars or laundries) nor too cramped
(do not shut it in places that are the size of a cupboard) to allow for proper
air exchange and adequate moisture disposal. As with all electrical devices,
BIOSEC must be kept away from water.
Is it possible to dry different products at the same time?
Is it necessary to load all the BIOSEC baskets?
BIOSEC functions perfectly even with only one full basket; you can fill it as
much as you wish. However, there is nothing to stop the space from being
optimised by dehydrating different products in different baskets. In this case,
take care to place the most watery foods lower down, choose a program
that is suitable for all the varieties to be processed and check the level of
drying reached at regular intervals. You can take different products out as
they are completely dried or wait for the entire load to be ready. No products
burn in a dehydrator, even if they are left for longer than necessary!
How are products to be stored once they have been dried?
Is it necessary to vacuum pack them?
No, vacuum packing is not the only solution for storing dried foods, although
it is certainly the best for saving space. It has the drawback of products that
are more fragile once dried breaking. Glass jars with a screw-top or snap-
on lid are a perfect alternative and can be found in all supermarkets, do not
need sterilisation and only need to be closed carefully every time they are
opened. Dried products generally have to be stored away from moisture,
light and insects and placed in a dark place in a cupboard or larder.
How long can a dried product be stored?
By drying, products can be obtained that last for more than a year if kept
closed and away from light (for example in glass jars in a cupboard).
