4.6.2 Inserting the maintenance support
Fig. a , page A5. Move the dock leveller to its up-
permost position. Switch off the main switch and se-
cure it against switch-on.
Insert the maintenance support first at the top and
then at the bottom into the receptacle on the dock
leveller.
Switch on the main switch. Lower the dock leveller.
Switch off the main switch and secure it against
switch-on.
4.6.3 Checking the hose connections
Check the hose connections on the three hydraulic
cylinders and on the hydraulic unit for tightness.
4.6.4 Connection to the control unit
Fig. a , page A6. Disconnect the cables of the hy-
draulic motor at the control unit (see assembly and
operating instructions of the control unit).
Assemble the control unit at the intended installation
point.
Guide the cables through the empty conduit to the
control unit and reconnect them to the control unit.
Fix the cable under the dock leveller platform with the
supplied cable clamps.
4.6.5 Mounting the cable channel
Fig. a , page A6. Use a cable channel (not in-
cluded in the scope of delivery) to protect the cables
between the outlet on the floor and the control unit.

Completion

4.7.1 Installation situation AZ
Fig. a , page A7.Weld the dock leveller to the
frame of the installation point. Close the gap under
each welding seam with a suitable shim (min
height 60 mm). Remove the side retaining plates.
If the dock leveller is galvanised, spray the area
around the weld seams with cold galvanising spray
(not included in the scope of delivery) and allow to
dry for at least 30 minutes.
Touch up all damaged areas in the paint with the sup-
plied touch-up paint.
Dismantle the transport lugs and close the holes in
the dock leveller platform with the plastic plugs.
4.7.2 Installation condition FZ
Fig. a , page A7.Weld the dock leveller to the
frame of the installation point.
If the dock leveller is galvanised, spray the area
around the weld seams with cold galvanising spray
(not included in the scope of delivery) and allow to
dry for at least 30 minutes.
Touch up all damaged areas in the paint with the sup-
plied touch-up paint.
Dismantle the transport lugs and close the holes in
the dock leveller platform with the plastic plugs.
These assembly, operation and maintenance instructions must be kept for the entire period of use!
4.7.3 Installation situation GZ
Fig. a , page A8. Weld the dock leveller to the
steel frame.
If the dock leveller is galvanised, spray the area
around the weld seams with cold galvanising spray
(not included in the scope of delivery) and allow to
dry for at least 30 minutes.
Touch up all damaged areas in the paint with the sup-
plied touch-up paint.
Dismantle the transport lugs and close the holes in
the dock leveller platform with the plastic plugs.

Operation

5.1

Safety instructions for operation

The dock leveller is designed to mitigate to the
greatest possible extent the risk of anyone operating
or standing near the door being crushed, cut, clipped
or otherwise injured. To ensure a safe operation of
the dock leveller, the following points must yet be ob-
served:
• If you notice damages endangering the
operational safety of the dock leveller, the dock
leveller must be inspected by an expert or a
qualified person and may not be used until the
repair work has been completed.
• Only instructed persons are allowed to operate
the dock leveller. All operators must be familiar
with the applicable safety regulations.
• Comply with the accident prevention regulations
and general safety regulations relevant to the
field of application.
• The operator of the dock leveller must ensure
sufficient lighting at the workplace.
• Regularly check the loading ramp for obvious
defects and have defects rectified immediately.
• Operating the dock leveller is only permissible at
temperatures between -20 °C and +40 °C.
• Do not load the dock leveller with cargo
exceeding the specified nominal load.
• Driving on the dock leveller is only allowed if the
permissible slope of 12.5 % (7°) is observed.
Orange markings on the dock leveller platform
and additionally on the frame for dock levellers
with a nominal length of 2000 mm indicate that
the permissible inclination range is no longer
met. Also observe the permissible incline for the
operation of the forklift truck used.
• The dock leveller platform may only be placed on
the truck loading area, not on a vehicle lifting
platform.
• The permissible track width of the forklift truck
used must be 700 mm less than the nominal
width of the dock leveller (e.g. nominal width =
2000 mm → industrial truck width maximum
1300 mm).
• Only move the vehicle to be loaded or unloaded
when the dock leveller is in its resting position.
