Safety

Observe the following safety information:

Failure to observe the safety informa-
tion and instructions can cause an elec-
tric shock, fire and / or severe injuries.
• Following the safety information and
directives given in these assembly
and operating instructions helps to
avoid personal injuries and material
damage while working on and with
the product.
• Read and comply with all safety in-
formation and instructions.
• Only use the product for the intended use as
mentioned in these instructions.
• Keep all safety information and instructions for
future reference.
• Installation work may only be carried out by
qualified technicians.
• Never make any modifications or changes to the
product that have not been expressly approved
by the manufacturer.
• Only use genuine spare parts of the
manufacturer. Incorrect or faulty spare parts can
cause damage, malfunctions or even a total
failure of the product.
These assembly, operation and maintenance instructions must be kept for the entire period of use!
• The dock leveller may only be operated by
persons from 18 years onwards who have read
the assembly and operating instructions. Persons
over 16 years of age may only operate the dock
leveller under supervision.
• Failure to comply with the safety information and
directives given in these instructions or with the
accident prevention regulations and general
safety regulations relevant to the field of
application shall exempt the manufacturer or its
representative from all liability and shall render
any damage claims null and void.
2.1

Intended use

The dock leveller is used exclusively for loading and
unloading vehicles. The dock leveller bridges differ-
ences in height (maximum permissible angle of inclin-
ation according to EN 1398: 12.5 %, i.e. approx. 7°)
as well as distances between the loading area of the
vehicle and the loading ramp. Always observe the
maximum angle of inclination suitable for the respect-
ive means of transport used (forklift trucks) when
loading and unloading.
2.2

Foreseeable misuse

Any use other than described in chapter Intended use
is regarded as reasonably foreseeable misuse. This
includes but is not limited to:
• a load on the dock leveller that is higher than the
nominal load indicated on the rating plate of the
dock leveller
• driving on the dock leveller with vehicles whose
track width is larger than the nominal width of the
dock leveller minus 700 mm
• any kind of lifting or lowering of loads
• passenger transportation
• exceeding the permissible traversing speed (see
technical data)
• placing the dock leveller on the truck tail lift rather
than on the loading area
• driving the truck away before the dock leveller is
brought into its resting position
Any damage or injury as a result of reasonably fore-
seeable misuse and / or of not following the assembly
and operating instructions will render the manufac-
turer's liability null and void.
