3. Intended use

This product is intended to measure and display electrical voltages in the range of overvoltage category III (up to max.
300 V against earth potential, pursuant to EN 61010-1) and all lower categories. The measuring device and equipment
must not be used in the overvoltage category CAT IV (e.g. at the low voltage installation source).
- Displays direct and alternating voltages up to a maximum of 400 V
- Contact-free cable search in powered-down and live installations in the wall, floor or ground
- Trace the signal through transmitter and receiver
- Find cable breaks and short circuits
- Assign and find fuses and their circuits
- Find and trace metal pipes
- Contact-free tracing of live lines through the receiver
- Torch
The cable detector consists of a transmitter and a receiver. Both devices are powered by a common 9 V alkaline
battery block. The device may only be operated with the specified batteries.
You can use as many as 7 cable detectors (transmitter and receiver) at the same time. The search signal is selective
and can be encoded from 1 to 7.
The devices must not be operated when open, i.e., with an open battery compartment or when the battery compartment
cover is missing. Live measuring in damp rooms or in unfavourable ambient conditions is not permitted. Unfavourable
ambient conditions include:
- Damp environments or high air humidity
- Dust or flammable gases, vapours or solvents
- Thunderstorms or similar conditions such as strong electrostatic fields.
For safety reasons, only use measuring cables or accessories which are adjusted to the specifications of the
multimeter.
The product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture, e.g. in bathrooms, must be
avoided under all circumstances.
For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify this product. If you use the product for purposes
other than those described above, the product may be damaged. In addition, improper use can result in short circuits,
fires, electric shocks or other hazards. Read the instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this
product available to third parties only together with its operating instructions.
