5. Features and functions

• The cable detector consists of a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter generates a modulated current signal
that creates an electromagnetic field around a connected conductor. This electromagnetic field is detected and
evaluated by the receiver.
• In the receiver, three receiver coils are used in automatic and manual mode. These enable position-independent
operation.
• All parameters are indicated on the transmitter and receiver display.
• The receiver can be used as a contact-free voltage detector and a torch independently of the transmitter. A voltage
test is only performed for grid alternating currents.
• The display features a backlight to facilitate work in poorly lit conditions.
• The transmitter and receiver switch off automatically if they are not operated for an extended period of time. This
saves battery power and extends the period of operation. The cable detector can be used for DIY or professional
applications.
