If the welding current is too high, the wire melts be-
fore it has even reached the weld pool. This results
in drops forming on the welding wire as well as a
sputtering and unsettled arc.
• The slag should only be removed from the seam
once it has cooled. If continuing with an interrupted
weld seam, the slag should first be removed from
the point of attachment. The electric arc is struck
in the weld groove, guided to the connection point,
properly melted there and then continued along the
weld seam.
• Attention! Always used tongs to move hot, welded
workpieces. Ensure that the burner is always set
down on an insulated surface after welding. Always
switch the welding machine off and pull out the
plug after the welding work is complete and during
breaks.

10. Electrical connection

The electrical motor installed is connected and
ready for operation. The connection complies
with the applicable VDE and DIN provisions.
The customer's mains connection as well as
the extension cable used must also comply with
these regulations.
Damaged electrical connection cable
The insulation on electrical connection cables is of-
ten damaged.
This may have the following causes:
Passage points, where connection cables are
passed through windows or doors.
Kinks where the connection cable has been im-
properly fastened or routed.
Places where the connection cables have been cut
due to being driven over.
Insulation damage due to being ripped out of the
wall outlet.
Cracks due to the insulation ageing.
Such damaged electrical connection cables must not
be used and are life-threatening due to the insula-
tion damage.
Check the electrical connection cables for damage
regularly. Make sure that the connection cable does
not hang on the power network during the inspection.
Electrical connection cables must comply with the
applicable VDE and DIN provisions. Only use con-
nection cables with the marking „H05VV-F".
The printing of the type designation on the connec-
tion cable is mandatory.
AC motor
The mains voltage must be 230 V~
Extension cables up to 25 m long must have a
cross-section of 2.5 mm

11. Maintenance and care

Danger!
Always pull out the mains power plug before starting
any cleaning work.
Note: The welding device must be regularly serviced
and overhauled for proper function and for compli-
ance with the safety requirements. Improper and in-
correct operation may result in failure and damage to
the device.
• Before carrying out any cleaning work on the weld-
ing device, pull the mains cable out of the socket
so that the device is safely disconnected from the
power supply circuit.
• Clean the outside of the welding device and its ac-
cessories regularly. Remove dirt and dust using air,
a cleaning rag or a brush.
Note: The following kinds of maintenance work must
be performed only by suitably-qualified personnel.
• Current regulator, earthing device, internal wiring,
the welding torch coupling device and adjustment
screws should be serviced regularly. Retighten
loose screws and replace rusty screws (replace-
ment M4 x 10 screws are available at any commer-
cial hardware store).
• Regularly check the insulation resistances of the
welding device. Use the appropriate measuring de-
vice for this purpose.
• In the event of a defect or if it is necessary to re-
place parts of the device, please contact the ap-
propriate specialist personnel.
