12. Maintenance and cleaning

a) General care and repair tips
Clean the exterior of the model and the remote control with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Never use abrasive cleaning
agents or chemical solutions, as these may damage the surface of the housing.
Damage to the hull should only be repaired using a water-insoluble glue that is suitable for ABS plastics. We recom-
mend a two-component epoxy resin based construction adhesive.
When replacing mechanical parts, only use original spare parts from the manufacturer. The spare parts list
can be found on our website in the download area for the respective product.
b) Changing the propellers
Remove the locking nut (1). To remove the nut on the left
propeller, turn it to the left. To remove the nut on the right
propeller, turn it to the right (see arrows in Figure 12).
Then pull the propeller (2) off the shaft. To do this, hold
the relevant motor shaft on the inside of the boat with one
hand. Be careful not to break off the motor fan blades.
The replacement propellers have a marking (3) so that the
correct propeller is mounted. The propeller marked with
"L" is intended for the left-hand drive when viewed from
the rear, and the propeller marked with "R" for the right-
hand drive.
Mount the new propeller on the shaft so that the side of the
propeller blade with the marking points forward to the boat
hull in the direction of travel.
Before screwing the locking nut down, apply a small drop
of thread locking compound on it so that it does not get
loose.
Warning!
Never operate the model boat with defective or
broken propellers. The resulting vibrations can
cause even greater damage to the model and
drive shafts.
Check all screw connections on your model for tightness at
regular intervals. All turning parts must be easily movable
and there should be no clearance in the bearing.
