12.2. Checking the display segments:

If the "Test" button is held down when the mecablitz is switched on, all possible display segments for the
version of the mecablitz are activated. The resulting display is different for the two versions.

12.3. Flash-counter value

If all three buttons are held down when the mecablitz is switched on, an indication of the number of flashes
fired to date appears on the LC display. To determine the actual number of flashes, the displayed value must
be multiplied by 10! The value is displayed as long as the three buttons are held down. The counter is set to
000 before the mecablitz leaves the factory.

12.4. Stripping and Assembling:

Stripping:
• Switch off the flash unit and remove the batteries.
•
Swivel the reflector upwards by 90°.
• Remove the two screws from the bottom shell of the reflector housing.
•
Lift the front edge of the bottom shell near the safety screen, disengage it from the hinge and lift it off.
•
Discharge the flash capacitor in the hinge with a 100 Ohm/7 W resistor.
•
Remove the screws of the front case shell on the foot module.
•
Swivel the reflector to its normal position and first disengage the two snap-in noses of the front case shell
at the hinge. Swivel the reflector back to the 90° position and disengage the other two snap-in noses and
lift off the front case shell.
•
Remove the two screws from the battery compartment and from the foot module. Then disconnect the
cable connector, unsolder the red wire and remove the battery compartment module.
