The chapter "Safety instructions" must be heeded!
The rainwater filter may only be put into operation when the
technical expert of the company that has been commissio-
ned to carry out the installation has certified proper installa-
tion.
Before the rainwater filter is put into operation, we recom-
mend cleaning the rainwater filter completely as well as all
inlet and outlet pipes as well as the ventilation pipe if appro-
priate.
• PLEASE NOTE: : The fabric of the filter element must not

become damaged!
• Place the lip seal around the stainless steel frame.
• Insert the filter element, the two pins for this are in the
recesses in the sides of the main body.
• The filter element must be felt to click into the main body.
• Check the seal fit and correct if necessary
• For installation depths from 700 mm, the long KESSEL
removal bracket is available as an accessory.
• The back-flushing unit is available as an option.
Connection of the back-flushing unit:
• It can be retrofitted at any time and removed for servicing
purposes. (Catch at the side in the main body)
• Standard connection is a 3/4" outer thread. The adapter
for the pressure pipe e.g. pressure hose with 3/4" fitting
(inner thread) can be connected directly.

5. Initial operation

• Sufficient gradient in the direction of flow according to DIN
1986.
• The inlet pipe to the filter should be routed as a straight pipe
1 to 2 metres upstream from the filter. If bends cannot be
avoided for technical reasons, 90° bends should be avoi-
ded and be replaced by 2 x 45° or even better 3 x 30°.
These measures slow down the inflow to the filters and thus
increase efficiency.
• If a back-flushing unit is being used or is planned for later,
the pressure pipe (pressure hose) should be laid now. At
least the outlet to the rainwater storage tank should be as
short as possible and free of bends.
The tank encasing must be produced in a width of at least
Backfilling excavation pit
50 cm. The individual layers should not exceed a height of
30 cm. They must be compacted using light compacting
equipment (Dpr≥95%). Damage to the tank wall and a dis-
location of the tank during and after installation must be
ruled out.
• Make sure the pipes are laid at a frost-free depth
• Example for pipe routing:
Service water network - non-return valve - empty conduit
seal - empty conduit - rainwater storage tank - rainwater
filter - back-flushing unit.
A very generous loop should be laid in the rainwater stora-
ge tank. This kind of pipe routing makes retrofitting or later
repairs possible at any time. Fish tape is suitable as an in-
stallation aid for the pressure pipe.
PLEASE NOTE: The back-flushing unit may only be opera-
ted with service water (never with drinking water).
