of soiling of the water passing through it.
• To do this, pick up the filter element using the bracket and
rinse it off from underneath.
• We strongly advise against using chemical or mechanical
cleaning agents.
• Check and clean the seal before inserting the filter element,
replace it if necessary.
• We recommend monthly inspection and cleaning.
6.2. Rainwater filter with back-flushing unit:
In the case of the KESSEL rainwater filter with back-flushing
unit, it is not necessary to remove the filter insert. Depending
on the degree of soiling, the shut-off valve is opened for 30
to 60 seconds and the filter thus automatically flushed out.
The back-flushing process can also be fully automated in the
case of rainwater management systems with Aqatronic K
control units. Back-flushing then takes place at set time in-
tervals for the set time.

All KESSEL rainwater filters for installation in the ground or
for installation in an exposed drain pipe are available either
with or without back-flushing unit for filter cleaning. The back-
flushing unit may only be used with service water.
The back-flushing unit can be installed later, either in a filter
shaft for installation in the ground or in a filter shaft for in-
stallation in exposed pipes, as appropriate.
