CHAIN ADJUSTMENT
Chain should be checked, adjusted and lubricated as
per the "Maintenance Chart" to ensure safety and
prevent excessive wear. If the chain wears excessively
or is poorly adjusted (i.e., if it is too slack or too taut), it
could escape from the rear sprocket or break.
Make sure that the chain features a slack measuring
approximately 20 mm (0,78 in.), as shown in the
nameplate (1).
If this is not the case, proceed as described below.
CHAIN ADJUSTMENT
Preliminary Operations:
Place the bike on a stand so as to have an adequate
-
working space in the area of the rear wheel shaft.
The bike must be firmly fixed and the rear wheel
-
must be raised and free to rotate.

Procedure:
1.
Loosen the lock nuts (3).
2.
Loosen the wheel shaft by unscrewing the nut (2)
so that the rear wheel is free to slide in the slot but
without excessive clearance.
3.
Operate the adjusters (4) alternately to the right
and to the left and keep visually equal the distances
indicated, until achieving the correct tensioning.
4.
Measure the indicated distance (A) with a gauge
and make it identical on both sides, using the
adjusters (4).
5.
Check that tensioning is correct in several positions
and that the wheel is free to rotate without hard
spots. If this is not the case, repeat points 3 and 4.
6.
Tighten the wheel shaft using the nut (2) (tightening
torque 120Nm).
7.
Make the adjusters rest on the sliding blocks using
the nut (4) (anticlockwise rotation), slightly tighten.
8.
Tighten the lock nuts (3).
