Before Starting Work

CAUTION
Risk of injury due to rotating insert tools.
1 Activate the transport lock (2).

Î Remove the battery pack before carrying out
any work on the power tool. Remove it also for
transport and when storing the power tool.
To ensure safe working with the machine, the
following points must be observed before each use:
•
Read through all safety instructions and
warnings in this instruction manual.
•
Wear protective clothing such as hard hat, face
protection or safety goggles, safety gloves and if
necessary an apron.
•
Note the voltage given on the rating plate and
use a battery pack with corresponding power.
•
The additional handle must be tightly screwed
onto the machine.
•
Before each use of the machine, check the
socket outlet drill bit for tight fit.
•
Always note the thread dimension of the
socket outlet drill bit retainer. The thread of
the socket outlet drill bit must fit on the thread
of the vacuum cleaner adapter (M16) without
clearance. Do not use reducers or adapters to fit
the socket outlet drill bit.
•
Examine the socket outlet drill bit visually to
check its condition.
NOTE
Do not used damaged socket outlet drill bits.
Replace damaged socket outlet drill bits.
•
Only use socket outlet drill bits recommended
by OTTO BAIER GmbH for the respective area
of use.

Charging the battery pack

•
Charge the battery pack before use.
•
If the power decreases, recharge the battery
pack.

NOTE
Note and follow the instructions on charging the
battery pack given in the instruction manual of the
Baier ASC 145 quick charger.
•
1 Check the state of charge of the
rechargeable battery before each drilling
session.
Press the capacity indicator button (7) on the
battery pack (6). The current state of charge is
indicated by the capacity indicator LEDs (8).
The following LED indications are possible:
State of charge: LED 1 lights up:
LEDs 1 and 2 light up:
LEDs 1, 2 and 3 light up:
LEDs 1,2,3 and 4 light up: > 80 %
Discharge the LED 1: flashes three times: < 20 %
rechargeable
battery:
Overvoltage / LEDs 1, 2 and 4: Brief flashing
Cable break: every 15 seconds

Adjusting the additional handle

Depending on the operating condition, the
position of the additional handle can be changed
and adjusted within the tooth pitch. The toothing
provides secure grip of it in any position.
•

Turn the handle grip (1) counterclockwise and
release the additional handle (A).
•
2 Push the additional handle forward slightly
and release it from the toothing.
•
2 Place the additional handle in the required
position (B).
•
Push the additional handle to the back and latch
it into the toothing.
•
2 Turn the handle grip (2) clockwise and tighten
the handle (C).

Connecting the dust extractor

NOTE

The hose adapter (2) is designed to be a
suitable fit for the extraction hose (1) of a dust
extractor.
3 When the hose adapter (2) is cold, a good deal
of effort is required to push it onto the vacuum
cleaner adapter (3).
