2.7.7 Hazards when using and
handling the battery pack
•
Keep battery dry!
•
Store battery packs only within the
temperature range from 10 °C to 30 °C.
Never leave battery packs in your car in the
summer.
•
Do not open battery packs!
•
Do not expose battery packs to fire!
•
Do not use defective or deformed battery
packs!
•
A slightly acidic, flammable fluid can leak
from defective Li-ion battery packs!
•
If battery fluid leaks and comes into contact
with the skin, rinse off immediately with
plenty of water. If battery fluid gets into your
eyes, rinse them with clean water and seek
medical treatment immediately!
•
If the machine is defective, remove the
battery pack from the machine.
•
Do not touch or short-circuit the contacts of
the battery packs.
•
Transporting Li-ion battery packs:
The shipping of Li-ion battery packs is
subject to dangerous goods law (UN 3480
and UN 3481). When shipping Li-ion
battery packs, clarify the current relevant
regulations. If necessary, contact your
transport company to find out further
information.
Certified packaging is available from
Maschinenfabrik OTTO BAIER GmbH.
Ship battery packs only if the housing is
undamaged and there is no leaking fluid.
Remove the battery pack from the machine for
shipping. Secure the contacts against short-
circuit (e.g. insulate with adhesive tape).

Follow the disposal instructions, see
Chapter "10 Disposal" on page 40.
•
Before disposing of the power tool,
discharge the battery pack in it. Secure the
contacts against short-circuit (e.g. insulate
with adhesive tape).

2.7.8 Safety instructions for using
long drill bits
•
Never work with a higher speed than the
maximum allowable speed of the drill bit
At higher speeds the drill bit can bend easily,
if it can twist itself free without contact with the
workpiece and result in injuries.
•
Always start drilling at a low speed and while
the drill has contact with the workpiece.
At higher speeds the drill bit can bend easily,

Do not exert excessive pressure and only
press in the longitudinal direction of the
drill bit.
Drill bits can bend and therefore break or result
in a loss of control and injuries.

2.7.9 Service / Maintenance / Repair

•
If the power tool is dropped or becomes wet,
have it checked.
A possibly damaged power tool is dangerous
and no longer safe to operate. Before using
the power tool again, have it checked by our
customer service or an authorised service
centre of Maschinenfabrik OTTO BAIER GmbH.
•
Repair and maintenance work may only be
carried out by an authorised workshop of
Maschinenfabrik OTTO BAIER GmbH.
Otherwise, all liability and warranty claims
against Maschinenfabrik OTTO BAIER GmbH
expire.
•
Ensure that original BAIER spare parts and
original BAIER accessories only are used
when needed.
Original parts are available from authorised
dealers. Use of non original parts can cause
damage to the machine and an increased risk of
accidents.
•
Regular servicing by Maschinenfabrik OTTO
BAIER GmbH or a servicing and repair
company authorised by us is specified.
Many accidents are caused by poorly serviced
and maintained power tools.
