– To switch on the pneumatic tool, attach the application
tool to the screw and apply light axial pressure to the
screwdriver.
– The pneumatic tool switches off automatically when
reaching the set torque.
– Shut-off override: Shut-off on reaching the set torque is
overridden by pressing the lever 9.
Applications: For sheet-metal and wood screws
When the pneumatic tool is released too early, the preset
torque is not reached.

– To switch on the pneumatic tool, press lever 9 and keep it
pressed during the working procedure.
– To switch off the pneumatic tool, release the lever 9.
When the lever 9 is released too early, the preset torque is not
reached.
Reversing the rotational direction (see figure D)
– Right rotation: The rotational direction switch 8 is not
pressed.
– Left rotation: Press the rotational direction switch 8.
Turn the rotational direction switch 8 to lock its position.
Setting the Torque
Setting the Torque (see figure E)
– Turn the protective sleeve 3, until an elongated hole be-
comes visible in the housing.
– Insert an Allen key (6 mm or 1/4") into the tool holder 1
and turn it until a half-round recess in the adjustment disc
16 becomes visible.
– Insert the adjustment tool 15 into the recess.
Turning in the clockwise direction results in a higher torque, in
the counterclockwise direction, a lower torque.
Start with low setting values.
– Remove the adjustment tool 15 and turn the protective
sleeve until it can be felt to engage.
Note: For soft screwdriving applications, the safety clutch
does not disengage for low torque settings.
After Setting the Torque
– Adapt the torque to the respective screwdriving applica-
tion (hard, medium, soft) through practical testing.
– Check the torque with an electronic torque measuring de-
vice or a torque wrench.
Working Advice
Sudden loads cause a sharp drop in speed or a complete stop,
yet do not cause damage to the motor.
Replacing the Clutch Spring (see figure F)
When working with lower torques (approx. 0.6–2.5 Nm)
than specified in the Technical Data is required, the clutch
spring 23 can be replaced through the white clutch spring.
– Unscrew the housing sleeve 2 (left-hand thread!).
– Remove the snap ring 17 with snap-ring pliers.

– Remove the support ring 18 as well as the spring 19 and
the clamping bushing 20 of the quick-change chuck.
– Remove the ball 24 and the O-ring 21.
– Pull the clutch 25 out of the housing 2 and remove the se-
curing ring 22.
– Insert the adjustment tool 15 into the recess of the adjust-
ment disc 16 and turn it leftward until the installed clutch
spring 23 is completely released and can be removed.
– Replace the installed clutch spring 23 with a new one.
– Reassemble the pneumatic tool in reverse order.
– Set the torque.
Start with low setting values.

Maintenance and Service

Maintenance and Cleaning
 Have maintenance and repair work carried out only
through qualified persons. This will ensure that the safe-
ty of the pneumatic tool is maintained.
An authorized Bosch after-sales service agent will carry out
this work quickly and reliably.
Use only original Bosch spare parts.
Regular Cleaning
– Clean the sieve at the air intake of the pneumatic tool regu-
larly. For this, unscrew the hose fitting 6 and remove any
dust and debris from the sieve. Afterwards, retighten the
hose fitting again.
– Water and debris particles in the compressed air cause
rust and lead to wear of plates, valves etc. To prevent this,
fill several drops of engine oil into the air intake 5. Recon-
nect the pneumatic tool to the air supply (see "Connecting
the Air Supply", page 23) and run it for 5–10 seconds,
while catching/picking up the escaping oil with a cloth. Al-
ways carry out this procedure when not using the pneu-
matic tool for a longer period of time.
Scheduled Maintenance
– Clean the gearbox after the first 150 running hours using a
mild solvent. Follow the solvent manufacturers directions
for use and disposal. Lubricate the gearbox using Bosch
gearbox lube. Repeat the lubrication procedure every
300 hours after the initial gearbox service.
Special gearbox grease (225 ml)
Article number 3 605 430 009
– The motor plates should be checked regularly by special-
ised personnel and replaced, if required.
– Relubricate moving parts of the clutch with a few drops of
SAE 10/SAE 20 engine oil after approx. 100,000 screw-
driving applications; relubricate sliding and rolling parts
with Molykote grease. Afterwards, check the clutch set-
ting.
– After each service, check the speed with a speed-measur-
ing device and check the pneumatic tool for increased vi-
brations.
Lubricating the Pneumatic Tool
For direct lubrication of the pneumatic tool or admixtures to
the service unit, use SAE 10 or SAE 20 engine oil.
