In this operating mode, the control unit interface (COM1A) is connected to the IVM
Terminal Client. The telemetry devices to be controlled are connected to the TTY
interface of the video matrix (Fig. 27).
Each time a key is pressed, the telegrams are sent to the connected devices via
the control unit and telemetry interfaces. The settings must be correct on the
control unit.
The following menu settings are required:
Addressing (basic parameters/device address):
Set control unit address (max. 10).
Baud rate (basic parameters/baud rate S1): Set baud rate according to setting in
the Terminal Client (standard: 9600, parity: even).
Mode (interface settings/COM1 mode):
Set "SIEMENS IVM".
Protocol (interface settings/COM2 protocols):
Set protocol for the connected telemetry devices.
Connection of the SIMATRIX and the telemetry devices to the control unit and the
power supply are described in section 5.1.
