• Prior to assembly, preventively check the
dimensions of the garage by comparing them to
the basic dimensions of the door.
– minimal internal width of the garage = width of
basic dimension + 160 mm
– For VL: minimum garage height up to ceiling =
height of basic dimension + 245 mm
– For HL: minimum garage height up to ceiling =
height of basic dimension + 115 mm
– minimum width stop, right and left = 45 mm
• Check the dimensions of the garage door
opening and compare them to the dimensions
specified on the delivery note.
• Check whether the supplied wooden screws (S8)
and the plugs (S9) are suitable for the respective
structural conditions.
• All right/ left specifications regarding the
installation refer to the perspective from the
inside of the garage, i.e. the viewing direction is
towards the outwards direction!
• All specified dimensions are in millimetres.

4.3.2 Required tools
Fig. a , Page A2. For assembly, you require the
following tools (put into the garage prior to the install-
ation of the door, if no other access is available):
• wooden folding rule or tape measure
• reversible ratchet with extension
• wrench set with SW 7, 10, 13 and T30 (if
required, also jaw spanners or socket wrenches)
• cross-tip screwdriver Phillips; size 2
• T30 screwdriver
• impact drill
• 10 mm drill (drill length at least 200 mm)
• chalk for marking
• wire rope shears or heavy-duty side cutter
• cutter knife
• spirit level (min. 80 cm)
• hacksaw
• water pump pliers
• hammer
• chisel
• min. two screw clamps
• ladders and support aids, if required

Assembling the door frame

Please refer to the picture section of the assembly in-
structions, meanwhile, follow the illustrations as
shown in the instructions.
4.4.1 Preassembling the door frame
Place wood or similar underneath the angle
frames (1R) and (1L) to provide protection against
scratches.
Fig. a , Page A3. Connect the angle frame (1R/1L)
with the frame panel (3) by screwing them together
with the metal screws (preassembled).

VL Fig. b Mount the sole plates (4R/4L) to the angle
frames (1R/1L) by screwing them together with the
screws (S11).
4.4.2 Mounting the wall anchors
Prior to mounting the wall anchors (7), check the
width stop and the place for the plugs on the ma-
sonry.
Depending on the width stop and the place for the
plugs, mount the wall anchors (7) as follows

Place the wall anchors (7) on the outside of the angle
frame.
Fig. b The width stop's range is between 80 mm and
119 mm. Place the wall anchors (7) on the inside of
the angle frame.
Also observe the following:
Fig. c For mounting the horizontal rail pairs later on,
it is required to pre-assemble the connection
screw (S5). To do so, insert the screw (S5) through
the addendum angle of the frame (1L/1R) and secure
the screw from falling out by lightly screwing on the
nut (S12).
4.4.3 Mounting the plugs for the door frame
Fig. a , Page A4. Set up the door frame and place
it behind the driveway opening.
Secure the door frame against toppling over and pre-
cisely align it angular and in parallel by using the
spirit level.
Fig. b Mount the shutter holder (13) by clipping it on
the centre of the shutter (3). From a width of basic di-
mension = 3530 mm, 2 shutter holders are included
in the scope of delivery. Mount them at regular dis-
tances.
Fig. c Pre-drill the holes for the plugs (Ø=10 mm)
with a depth of at least 65 mm (approx.). For this pur-
pose, it is best to use a rock drill with a length of
200 mm.

plates (4L/4R), the shutter holder (13) and all angle
frames with the screws (S8) and the respective dow-
els (S9).
Fig. g For anchoring the frame to the ground, use
the screws (S8) in combination with the disc (U1).
Fig. h At first, insert the screw (S6) into the lowest
hole of the angle frame (1L/1R) and fasten with the
screw nut (S12). Then use the screws (S6, S12) to
mount one LS support bracket each (51) to the angle
frame (1L/1R).
NOTICE Do not twist the angle frames (1R)
and (1L)!
When tightening the angle frames,
make sure not to twist or warp them. If
required, shim the angle frames with
suitable material. Hooks to place under-
neath which are suited for this purpose
can be purchased from Novoferm.
f Screw together the sole
