If the door is not in a perfectly safe condition.
Door elements, drives and radio controls are not
a toy for children.
Door elements are not suited for being used as load-
bearing components. Either vertical or horizontal in-
stallation has to be performed in accordance with the
version. The rails are to be aligned perpendicularly or
according to the assembly specifications.
Any damage or injury as a result of reasonably fore-
seeable misuse and / or of not following the assembly
and operating instructions will render the manufac-
turer's liability null and void.

Personnel qualifications

The following persons are qualified to perform as-
sembly, disassembly, maintenance activities or to re-
place the torsion spring:
Qualified persons according to the EN  12604 and
EN 12453 requirements.
Competent persons are defined as persons who have
been given the necessary instructions and who are
by way of training and/or experience and knowledge
qualified and authorised to carry out the required
tasks correctly and safely.
The following persons are qualified to perform elec-
trical installation work and to work on the electrical
system:
Qualified electricians
Skilled electricians must be able to read and under-
stand electric circuit diagrams, to put electrical sys-
tems into service and to maintain them, to wire con-
trol cabinets, to install the control software, to ensure
the functionality of electrical components and to
identify possible hazards resulting from handling elec-
trical and electronic systems.
The following persons are authorised to handle the
product:
Operating personnel
The operator must have read and understood the in-
structions, in particular the "Safety" chapter and must
be aware of the hazards associated with handling the
product.
2.4
Information on equipping the door with
a drive
If equipping this door with a Novoferm door drive ac-
cording to the enclosed Declaration of Performance
(R-500, N-423, N-563S, B-1200 or Novoport IV):
In order to guarantee the performance
characteristics specified below, please consider
the additional information regarding assembly,
commissioning, operation and maintenance in
the door drive instructions.

If equipping this door with a door drive where the
brand name is not explicitly mentioned:
The enclosed Declaration of Performance is not
fully applicable, e.g. information regarding
operating powers are to be certified by the
manufacturer of the door system by means of a
new and individual declaration of performance or
conformity.
The door system must comply with all valid EU
directives (Machinery Directive, Low-voltage
directive, EMC directive etc.) and with all
applicable national and international norms and
regulations.
The door system shall be marked by the
manufacturer with a rating plate and the CE
marking in compliance with the above-mentioned
Declaration of Performance. Moreover, a
handover documentation must be compiled in
your local language and kept safe by the
operator throughout the entire service life of the
door.
Bolt plates, bolt catches and bolt bars of the manually
operated door must be dismantled independently of
the selected door drive.
2.5
Potential hazards associated with the
product
The product has undergone a risk assessment. The
product's design and construction, which are based
on this risk assessment, correspond to the current
state-of-the-art. The product is safe to operate when
used as intended. Nevertheless, residual risks re-
main.
Impact and crush hazard due to the
WARNING
door movement!
When the door is actuated, the opening
and closing processes must be mon-
itored.
The garage door must be visible
from the place of operation.
Make sure that no objects or per-
sons, particularly children, are in the
door's movement area during oper-
ation.
Always keep the opening range
clear.
Hazardous tensioned springs!
WARNING
Springs are under high torque and can
release large forces when being ten-
sioned or when being relieved from ten-
sion.
Wear suitable personal protective
equipment when tensioning the
springs or when relieving them from
tension.
