14. Troubleshooting
Even though the model and the remote control system were built with the latest available technology, there can still be
malfunctions or faults. This is why we would like to show you how to correct possible faults. Also observe the enclosed
operating instructions for the remote control system.
The model does not react or does not react correctly
• For 2.4 GHz remote control systems, the receiver must be trained to the transmitter. This process is known as
"binding" or "pairing".
The manufacturer has usually already performed the training process. However, you can of course also do it your-
self. To do this, follow the enclosed operating instructions from the manufacturer.
• Are the vehicle drive battery or the batteries/rechargeable batteries in the transmitter empty? Replace the drive
battery or the batteries in the transmitter with new ones.
• Did you switch on the transmitter first and then the speed controller? For safety reasons, the speed controller does
not function if this is done in reverse order.
• When you turn on the speed controller, the throttle/brake lever on the transmitter must be in the neutral position
(centre position); the trim must also be in the centre position. Otherwise, the drive function is deactivated for safety
reasons. In the correct neutral position, the LED on the speed controller is not lit up.
• Is the drive battery correctly connected to the speed controller? Check the plug connections to see if they are dirty
or rusted.
• Is the drive battery fully charged?
This vehicle is only suitable for use with a LiPo drive battery with 2 cells (nominal voltage 7.4 V) or a NiMH
drive battery with 6 cells (nominal voltage 7.2 V).
The speed controller is pre-programmed so it switches off the motor when the battery voltage is below
6.2 V. This is to protect the connected LiPo battery against deep discharge (switch-off at a cell voltage of
3.1 V).
A programming card adapted for the speed controller is available as an accessory (not included, sold
separately). You can find it under accessories on the product's website.
When using a NiMH rechargeable battery for the vehicle, we recommend that you set a lower cut-off volt-
age or turn off the deep discharge protection.
If using a LiPo drive battery, you should not change the preset value (cut-off voltage 3.1 V/cell) using the
programming card.
• If the vehicle comes to a standstill during driving, the undervoltage detector may have been activated because the
voltage of the connected battery has dropped below 6.2 V. You can connect a new, fully charged battery to the
vehicle (leave a gap of at least 5 - 10 minutes first, until the speed controller and the motor have cooled down).
• The speed controller's overheating protection has been activated. Wait a few minutes, until the speed controller
has cooled down.
• Is the vehicle too far away? With a full drive battery and full batteries in the transmitter, a transmission range of 50 m
and more should be possible. However, this can be reduced by outside influences, such as interference on the radio
frequency or the proximity of other transmitters (not just remote control transmitters, but also WLAN/Bluetooth
devices that also use a transmission frequency of 2.4 GHz), of metal parts, buildings, etc.
