10.2. Connecting the refrigerant piping

NOTICE
Installation shall be done by an installer, the choice of
materials and installation shall comply with the
applicable legislation. In Europe the EN378 is the
applicable standard that shall be used.
Ensure that the field piping and connections are not
subjected to stress.

Decide front or side connection.
Installation of refrigerant piping is possible as front connection or
side connection (when taken out from the bottom) as shown in
the figure below:

For front connection, please remove the front cover as follows:

For side connections, the knockout hole on the bottom plate
should be removed:

NOTICE
Precautions when knocking out knockout holes
Be sure to avoid damaging the casing
After
knocking
recommend you remove the burrs and paint the
edges and areas around the edges using repair paint
to prevent rusting.
When passing electrical wiring through the knockout
holes, wrap the wiring with protective tape to prevent
damage as shown above.

Remove the pinched pipes
WARNING
Any gas or oil remaining inside the stop valve may
blow off the pinched piping. Failure to observe the
instructions in procedure below properly may result in
property damage or personal injury, which may be
serious depending on the circumstances.
Use the following procedure to remove the pinched piping:

Remove the valve cover and make sure that the stop valves
are fully closed.

Connect the vacuuming/recovery unit to service ports of all
stop valves.

Recover gas and oil from the pinched piping by using a
recovery unit.
CAUTION
Do not vent gases into the atmosphere.

When all gas and oil is recovered from the pinched piping,
disconnect the charge hose and close the service ports.
