Machen Sie sich vor der ersten Anwendung des
Gerätes am Patienten unbedingt mit der
Funktionsweise und Bedienung des Gerätes ver-
traut.
Bestimmungsgemäße
Verwendung
Die Lichtquelle XENON 100 SCB wird in
Verbindung mit KARL STORZ
Videoendoskopen für die Gastroenterologie
benutzt. Ein besonderes Merkmal dieser
Endoskope ist ein Integralstecker für Licht,
Insufflation und / oder Spülung. Die XENON 100
SCB besitzt hierfür die entsprechende Buchse
sowie eine integrierte Luftpumpe. Außerdem bie-
tet die Lichtquelle folgende Leistungsmerkmale:
• SCB-Anschlussmöglichkeit / Funktion für
Anwendungen im Rahmen der SCB-
Installation
• Konfigurationsmöglichkeit als Standard-Licht -
quelle für allgemeine Anwendungen (zusätz-
lich zu gastroenterologischen Anwen dungen
mit entsprechenden Videoendoskopen).
Die XENON 100 SCB Lichtquelle darf nur unter
folgenden Bedingungen betrieben werden:
• Verwendung nur für humanmedizinische
Zwecke (insbesondere Gastroenterologie)
• Verwendung ausschließlich in Kombination mit
KARL STORZ Videoendoskopen für die
Gastroenterologie (Gastroskope)
• oder mit Hilfe eines Adapters (Art.-Nr. 495KS)
in Verbindung mit anderen (flexiblen und star-
ren) KARL STORZ Endoskopen
• Verwendung in Räumen für medizinische
Anwendungen (Operationssälen)
• Verwendung nur unter Standard-
Umweltbedingungen
• Betrieb nur bei Anschluss an das öffentliche
Stromnetz (100 - 240 V, Wechselstrom, 50 / 60
Hz) über Steckdosen mit Schutzkontakt, die
entsprechend den geltenden nationalen
Normen und Richtlinien installiert sind.
• Betrieb nur in aufrechter Position bei freier
Wärmeableitung
Safety instructions
Before using the unit on patients for the first
time, it is imperative that you be acquainted with
how the unit operates and how it is controlled.
Normal use
The XENON 100 SCB light source is to be used
in combination with KARL STORZ videoscopes
for gastroenterology. A particular feature of
these endoscopes is an integrated connector for
light insufflation and/or irrigation. The XENON
100 SCB supports this via an appropriate socket
and an integrated air pump. In addition to this,
the light source offers the following features:
• SCB connectivity/functionality for application
inside a SCB installation;
• an optional configuration as a standard light
source for general purpose application (along-
side gastroenterology with the respective
videoscopes).
The XENON 100 SCB light source shall only be
operated and used in compliance with the
following terms and conditions:
• use restricted to human medical applications
(especially gastroenterology);
• use only in combination with KARL STORZ
videoscopes for gastroenterology
(gastroscopes);
• or with the aid of an adaptor (Art. no. 495KS)
in combination with other KARL STORZ
endoscopes (flexible and rigid);
• use in rooms for medical applications
(operations);
• use only under standard environmental
conditions;
• use only while connected to public mains,
100 - 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz, via hospital grade
power sockets installed acc. to the applicable
national standards and guidelines;
• operation only in upright position, free
convection provided;

Familiarícese a fondo con los modos de funcio-
namiento y el manejo del equipo antes de em-
plearlo por primera vez con un paciente.
Empleo previsto
La fuente de luz fría XENON 100 SCB se utiliza
en combinación con videoendoscopios
KARL STORZ para gastroenterología. Una ca-
racterística particular de estos endoscopios es
un enchufe integral para iluminación, insuflación
y/o irrigación. Para ello, la XENON 100 SCB po-
see el conector adecuado, así como una bomba
de aire integrada. Además, la fuente de luz ofre-
ce las siguientes características:
• Posibilidad de conexión SCB / función para
aplicaciones en el marco de la instalación
SCB
• Posibilidad de configuración como fuente de
luz estándar para aplicaciones generales (adi-
cionalmente a las aplicaciones gastroenteroló-
gicas con los videoendoscopios correspon-
dientes).
La fuente de luz XENON 100 SCB debe utilizar-
se sólo bajo las siguientes condiciones:
• Utilización únicamente en medicina humana
(particularmente gastroenterología)
• Utilización exclusivamente en combinación
con videoendoscopios KARL STORZ para
gastroenterología (gastroscopio)
• o, con ayuda de un adaptador (nº de art.
495KS), en combinación con otros endosco-
pios KARL STORZ (flexibles y rígidos)
• Utilización en salas para aplicaciones médi-
cas (quirófanos)
• Utilización únicamente bajo condiciones am-
bientales estándar
• Servicio únicamente en caso de conexión a la
red pública de corriente (100 - 240 V, corrien-
te alterna, 50/60 Hz) a través de tomas de co-
rriente con contacto de protección, que hayan
sido instaladas de acuerdo con las normas y
directrices nacionales vigentes.
• Servicio únicamente en posición vertical con
libre disipación del calor.
