3.0 USE INSTRUCTIONS

Strictly comply with the following instructions to achieve the best
performances.
ATTENTION
It is absolutely essential to disengage the tractor pto, lower the
mowing machine, switch off the tractor, ensure that this is at a
complete standstill and remove the key before servicing, adjusting
or preparating the implement for work. All assembly operations
must be carried out on a work bench.

3.0.2 SETTING-UP THE MOWING MACHINE

A careful periodical check that the screws are tight will help to avoid
unwelcome problems and breaks.
The mowing machine must be set-up on flat and compact ground,
supported by the relative bearing struts (A, Fig. 10 ).

3.1 HITCHING TO THE TRACTOR

The mower can be hitched to any tractor equipped with a universal
three-point coupling.
Application of any implement to a tractor is a very dangerous
operation and must only be carried out with the utmost care
in compliance with the instructions.
The correct tractor/mower position is established by setting the
implement at such a distance from the tractor that the universal
coupling remains 5-10 cm from its maximum closing position.
Now proceed in the following way:
1) Hook the lower arms of the front lifting unit of the tractor onto the
mower pins (B), and attach the tie-rod of the third point (C) to the
mower and the tractor (See Fig. 11).
2) Position the plate (D, Fig. 12) to the left of the tie-rod, integral on
the same pin. These parts are used for attaching the spring-
type shock absorber (Fig. 14).
NOTE: if it is not possible to connect the extension (D) to the
three-point hook up, locate another point at the same height
and attach the spring to it.
3) Centre the mower on the 3-point hook up of the tractor. Lock the
right links using the relative chains and couplings parallel to the
tractor. This operation must be carried out to prevent the
machine from moving in a horizzontal direction.
4) Engage the cardan shaft and check that it is perfectly locked on
the pto. Check that the guard is free to turn and fix it with the
relative latch (Fig. 13).
IMPORTANT!
The 2 lower tie-rods of the three-point hook up must be equipped
with a slotted hole allowing at least 5 cm of travel and be in a
floating position (Fig. 12). Failure to observe this provision could
lead to the tractor exerting heavy stress on the mower frame
because the front axle of the tractor is articulated and follows the
irregularities of the ground independently of the rest of the tractor,
and hence also of the three-point hook up. For this reason in the
event of damage resulting from failure to observe the above, MA-
SCHIO GASPARDO S.p.A. declines all responsibility, even if the
damage occurs while the mower is still under guarantee.
