Step 2: Adjust the current with the potentiometer
Step 3: Press the reset button.
IMPORTANT: this cutting mode is better for speed
and suitable for cutting material up to 25mm.
MESH MODE
This cutting mode is used for dismantling. It restrikes the
pilot arc and saves having to press the trigger again
when leaving the material. The cutting capacities are the
same as in the normal cutting cycle whether for remote
cutting or contact cutting.
GOUGING MODE
This cutting mode is used to drive away the metal. It is
especially effective in order to drive away a bad welding
or to bevel pieces before welding.
It is necessary to used gouging wears parts.
- Nozzle
- Gouging skirt
- Max performance: 1.5Kg / Hours

4.3 RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE

1.
CUTTING CAPACITY
Cutting thickness in solid sheet: 12 mm
Thickness of quality cut: 20 mm
Separating cut: 25 mm
2.
USING THE SET WITH AN EXTENSION CABLE
The maximum extension cable length that can be used without
affecting the set's cutting characteristics is 25 m and a cross sec-
tion of 2.5 mm2.
3.
USE OF A TORCH MADE BY A COMPETITOR
WARNING: AIR LIQUIDE WELDING declines all
responsibility should the generator be used with
a torch of any other make than AIR LIQUIDE
WELDING. Since the voltages used in the power
source represent a real danger to the operator,
AIR LIQUIDE WELDING may not be held responsible for any
combination of components not of its own manufacture.
4.
USE WITH AN ELECTRICAL GENERATOR SET
If the generator set is powerful enough to feed the unit (maximum
power consumption: 15 kVA) and if it has sufficiently stable regula-
tion (voltage : 400V ± 10%), it can be used to provide the power for
the SHARP 22 cutting unit.
5.
POSITIONING THE TORCH
Striking at the edge of the sheet

SERVICING

Mid-sheet striking
When striking in the middle of the sheet, metal spatter can rebound
onto the nozzle and damage it.
- To avoid this, position the torch in such a way as to eject sputter to
the side.
- Perform the cut leaving the striking point in the off-cut. Release
the trigger to switch off the cutting arc.

CUTTING RECOMMENDATIONS
If the kerf does not form properly:
- the cutting speed is too high
- replace the nozzle if it is worn
- the material being cut is too thick
If the cutting arc goes out:
- the cutting speed is too low
- the nozzle is too far from the work piece
IMPORTANT: Do not switch off the power to the
unit immediately after use. Allow the post-gas
cycle to finish to cool the nozzle.

5.0 SERVICING
CAUTION: disconnect the equipment from the
electricity mains before doing any maintenance
work.

5.1 SERVICING OF THE EQUIPMENT

Twice a year, depending on the degree of use of the unit, inspect:
- The cleanliness of the equipment
- The electrical and gas connections
- The air filter-regulator.
For all operations:
- Remove the equipment cover.
- Remove the screws from the cover.

5.2 DIAGNOSIS CHART

Servicing operations carried out on electric instal-
lations must be performed by persons qualified to
do this kind of work (see SAFETY RECOMMENDA-
TIONS section).
