1.0 GENERAL INFORMATION

This equipment is a compressed air plasma cutting unit for manual cut-
ting operations on all conducting materials.

1.1 PRESENTATION

A high power, brought back to the thickness to be cut, enables high
speeds, with the following consequences:
a.
The reduction (or disappearance) of adherent slag,
b.
A reduction of the "Thermally-affected area",
c.
An increase in the relief,
d.
An increase in fumes.
Increasing the power and/or the distance from the nozzle to the
workpiece also helps to widen the kerf.
The "cut on contact" configuration will be chosen for precision cuts, requi-
ring good visibility or accessibility, within the limit of 1/3 of the maximum
capacity of the current range which is used.
The "remote cutting" configuration will be especially recommended for
very thick items, in the range in question. The proper seating of the sli-
ding piece enables one to ensure good torch perpendicularity on the
workpiece.

1.2 UNIT COMPOSITION

The equipment, is fitted with:

One 6 meter long 4 x 2.5mm primary cable

One 3 meter long 16 mm secondary cable fitted with a ground con-
nection
3.
One 5 metre long torch, fitted with:
- One 1.2 nozzle
- 1 electrode

1 plastron-skirt assembly

1 set of wearing parts
6.
1 equipment operating and maintenance manual
7.
1 torch operating and maintenance manual
