3.0 STARTING UP

3.1 ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

The equipment is a single voltage set. It is delivered ready to be con-
nected to a 3-phase 400V ± 10% supply.
- Connect the primary cable (4x2.5 mm2 conductors ) to a 3-phase
+ ground socket. (If you need to use an extension cable refer to
chapter 4 «INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE», paragraph 4.3 «Recom-
mendations for use»).
- Check that the fuse sizes correspond with the max. current con-
sumptions given on page 2.
- Connect your work site or workpiece to be cut to your ground cir-
cuit as explained in the "SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS".

3.2 COMPRESSED AIR CONNECTION

Connect the air inlet pipe to your compressed air circuit with a quick-
release connection.

IMPORTANT: Any modification to the air inlet con-
nections or the pressure valve / pipe combination
may have a negative effect on cutting perfor-
mance
WARNING: It is important to drain the compres-
sed air filter tank regularly.

4.0 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

4.1 STARTING UP
After making the connections, fix the ground on the work piece to be cut
making sure that there is a good electrical contact, especially on pain-
ted or oxidised parts.
- Switch the 0/1 on/off switch to position 1.

- Use the adjustement potentiometer to adjust the cut-
ting current to suit the thickness to be cut. The nozzle
should correspond with the range of cutting current
chosen.

4.2 DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION

There are two possibilities in this mode.
First possibilty: CHOICE OF THE «CONTACT» CUTTING MODE
This cutting mode is the best for quality and accessibility. It is recommen-
ded when cutting material up to 8 mm in thickness.
Step 1: Fit the torch with its wearing parts

Step 2: Adjust the current with the potentiometer
Step 3: Press the reset key.
The generator is now ready for cutting and will give the best results
in this cutting mode.

"REMOTE" POSITION
This cutting mode is better for speed and more suitable for thicker mate-
rial. We recommend using it for cutting material up to 25 mm, or to
increase the cutting speed below this thickness but to the detriment of
the cutting quality.
