MAINTENANCE
CAUTION! NEVER REMOVE THE MACHINE'S PANELS AND
GET INSIDE IT WITHOUT HAVING FIRST UNPLUGGED IT
FROM THE POWER SOCKET. ANY CHECKS MADE INSIDE
THE MACHINE WHILE IT IS POWERED MAY CAUSE SEVERE
ELECTRIC SHOCK ORIGINATING FROM DIRECT CONTACT
WITH LIVE PARTS.
Periodically, and anyhow with a frequency according to use and
the dustiness of the environment, inspect inside the machine and
remove the dust that has formed on the transformer, reactor and
rectifier by blowing dry compressed air (max. 10 bar). On this oc-
casion, check that the electrical connections are tightened proper-
ly and the insulation on the wirings is not damaged.
If necessary, lubricate the moving parts of the adjuster elements
(threaded shaft, shunt sliding surfaces, etc.) with a very thin layer
of grease at high temperature.
On completing these operations, fit the panels back on the ma-
chine, tightening the fixing screws fully. Never do any welding
when the machine is open.
CAREFULLY COMPLY WITH THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1.
Fit the required electrode on the electrode holder.
2.
Connect the earthing lead connector to the quick-release
negative terminal and the clamp near the welding zone.
3.
Connect the electrode holder connector to the quick-release
positive terminal.
4.
The connection of these two connectors thus made will result
in welding with straight polarity; reverse the connection to ob-
tain welding with reverse polarity.
5.
Adjust the welding current to the required value.
6.
Switch the generator on.
