Incorrect inputs, e.g. parameter limit violations or incorrect string lengths, are intercepted and
acknowledged with NAK (15H). Correct commands are acknowledged with data transfer or ACK
(06H).

4.2.8 SSI Interface

This menu is used to select the SSI parameters.
Default: GRAY 25 Bit
Settings: GRAY 24, GRAY 24+E or 25 Bit / BINARY 24 or 25 Bit

4.2.8.1 Data transfer / line length SSI

Data transfer with the "SSI" setting occurs on request from the controller; the cycle time and transfer
rate can be set within broad limits.
A clock sequence is applied to the receive input of the DME by the connected controller for this
purpose. A data bit is sent on the DME transmit line with each positive clock edge starting with the
most significant bit. A minimum interval of 30µs separates two clock sequences. The bit clock is
between 70 kHz and 1 Mhz and depends on the line length.
