5 Error correction

The DME 3000 is equipped with the following tools for troubleshooting and error prevention:
ERROR STATUS menu (see Chap. 4.2.9.4)
INTERFACE STATUS menu ( see Chap. 4.2.9.3)
Plausibility message ( see Chap. 5.1)
Service message (see Chap. 5.2)
Error code display (see Chap. 5.3)

5.1 Plausibility output Qp

The plausibility output is set to LOW under the following conditions:
Device error (see Chap. 3)
Internal temperature > 60 °C ( see Chap. 4.2.9.4 and 5.3)
Measuring laser properties
No reflector (signal level too low)
Format: Qp = HIGH:
Qp = LOW:
Note

When the plausibility output is triggered, the measuring value 0 is output via the serial
interface. The switching outputs react in accordance with the measuring value which
is output.

5.2 Service output Qs

The service output Qs provides an early indication of possible device errors or measuring problems.
The early warning failure message Qs is a group message of possible causes:
Measuring laser properties - early warning failure message
Reference laser properties - early warning failure message
Contamination
Device error detected (see Chap. 3)
Internal temperature > 55 °C and < -10 °C (see Chap. 4.2.9.4 and 5.3)
The cause can be interrogated in the ERROR STATUS menu (see Chap. 4.2.9.4) or called up via the
RS 422 interface (see Chap. 4.2.7.6).
Format: Qs = HIGH :
Qs = LOW :

5.3 Error code display

If the DME display flashes and an error code is displayed after the supply voltage has been switched
on, the device must be repaired at the factory.
Exception: error bit 6: internal temperature > 60 °C. The device can be operated again if the
temperature falls.
