4.8 ROW MARKER

The row marker is a machine that traces a reference line parallel
to the tracks of the tractor on the ground.
Once the tractor has completed its run and it has turned around,
follow the reference row with the centre of the tractor (L, Fig. 60):
Each time it passes, the seeder will mark a reference line on the
side opposite to the previous passage.
The row marker arms are swapped by means of the hydraulic
distributor command on the tractor (line D2).
The hydraulic row marker device has a valve that alternately ope-
rates the two arms, so that just one hydraulic tractor distributor is
present.
ROW MARKER DISK ADJUSTMENT
Using the Table 5 shown, read the distance (L, Fig. 60) at which
the disc is to draw the reference line.

Regulate the disc at the correct distance, tilt it slightly and fi rmly
tighten the nuts (A, Fig. 61).
For distances not covered by the table, use the following rule:
L= D (N +1)
where:
L = the distance between the outer most unit and the row marker;
D= the distance between the rows;
N= the number of units operating;
Rotate the row-marking disk to change the cutting tilt (B, Fig. 61)
depending on the type of soil.
Only the outer segment of the row marker has a safety pin (C, Fig.
61). In the event of accidental knocking against an obstacle, the
safety pin breaks off to allow the outer segment to fold backwards
so guaranteeing that the structure remains intact. On the articulated
joint of the arm there are another two safety pins (D, Fig. 61) that
can be used to restore the functioning of the row marker.
