9.1 Repairing a non-return valve

CAUTION

- Relieve the pressure by draining the system before
dismantling the non-return valve.

- Remove the fuses or switch off the main switch
before dismantling the non-return valve.
Make sure that the power supply cannot be
accidentally switched on.

- Rinse the non-return valve thoroughly with clean
water before carrying out maintenance and
service.
Make sure the isolating valves cannot be accidentally
opened.
When entering the valve chamber, do not step on
pipes or valves
1. Open the valve chamber drain valve by means of the valve
handle in the pit in order to empty the sump of the valve
chamber. See fig. 28.
2. Close the isolating valves. See fig. 8.
3. Loosen and remove the two screws on the non-return valve
cover. See fig. 29.
4. Replace worn-out valve balls and clean valves inside.
5. Close the valve cover and tighten the screws.
6. Open the isolating valves. See fig. 8.
7. Close the drain valve inside the pit. See fig. 28.

9.2 Contaminated pumps

CAUTION

Minor or moderate personal injury
- Flush the pump thoroughly with clean water and
rinse the pump parts in water after dismantling.
For further information, see the installation and operating
instructions for the pump.

9.3 Service contract

It is possible to make a service contract with Grundfos.

10. Disposal

This product or parts of it must be disposed of in an
environmentally sound way:
1. Use the public or private waste collection service.
2. If this is not possible, contact the nearest Grundfos company
or service workshop.
3. If it is not possible to dispose of the product as a complete
unit, the pump and installation equipment can be removed
from the pit, and the pit can be filled and covered.
