13. troubleshooting

Short-term measuring errors can occur in exceptional cases due to the sensor becoming displaced
or perspiration occurring during operation. If this occurs, stop the measurement. Reattach the finger
sensor and restart the measurement.

The sensor is incorrectly attached.
A noise was heard at the
beginning of the measurement.

Your hand is cold. Blood vessels
contract in cold conditions and im-
pede the measurement.
Measurement is also inhibited by
poor circulation.
The pulse signal is too weak. The
pulse signal can weaken if the
hands are held downwards while
walking, no matter whether they
are swung or not. This behavior
depends on the user. However, a
weak pulse signal usually occurs
when the user is tired.
The sensor is dirty.

Remedy
Reattach the sensor. The sensor
should be fitted between the
proximal finger phalanx.
Start the measurement in the
resting state and do not start spor-
ting activity until the heart rate is
shown. Warm your hand.
Remedy
Bend and extend your finger. This
activity will not affect the measure-
ment if it does not last longer than
15 seconds.
Tighten the Velcro fastener.
Clean the sensor with a soft cloth.
