Remove the power plug in case of non-use,
while cleaning the device, before maintenance
or the replacement of accessories. Ensure the
device is switched off when you insert the plug
into the plug socket.

Store the device in a dry location and out of
the reach of children.
•
Use only those replacement and accessory
parts which are supplied and recommended by
the manufacturer.
•
Do not attempt to repair the device yourself. All
work, which is not indicated in these direc-
tions, may be carried out only by service sta-
tions authorized by us.
Protection against electric shock:
Keep extension cables away from cut-
ting equipment. If the extension cable is
damaged during use, unplug it immedi-
ately from the mains power supply. DO
NOT TOUCH THE CABLE UNTIL YOU
HAVE UNPLUGGED IT FROM THE MAINS.

Ensure that the mains voltage agrees with the
information of the label.
•
As far as possible, attach the device only to a
plug socket with leakage-current-operated cir-
cuit breaker (FI switch) with a rated current of
not more than 30 mA.

Protect the device against humidity. The de-
vice must not be moist and neither should it be
operated in a moist environment.
•
Before every use, check the device and the
power cable with plug for damages. Avoid
body contact with grounded parts (e.g. metal
fences, metal posts).
•
Employ only extension cords which are, at
most, 75 m long and which have been stipu-
lated for use in the open air. The flexible lead
cross-section of the extension cord must be at
least 1.0 mm

. Always roll a cable drum out
completely before use. Check the cable for
damage.

Never cross over the extension cord with
turned on device. Basically, play the mains ca-
ble out behind the operator.
•
Employ the cable attachment device provided
for the fixing of the extension cord.
Function description
The hand-guided and portable lawn trimmer has an
electrical motor as a drive. As cutting equipment
the lawn trimmer uses a double-line spool or a
plastic cutting blade with three cutters (ERT 55
Pro, optional for ERT 45 Pro) which can be option-
ally mounted. During the cutting procedure, two
plastic lines or three plastic cutters rotate around
an axis vertical to the cutting plane.
For the protection of the user, the device is pro-
vided with a safety device, which covers the cutting
equipment.
Please refer to the following descriptions for the
function of the actuators.
Intended Use
The device is suitable only for cutting grass in gar-
dens and along bed edges. Every other utilization,
which is not explicitly approved in these instruc-
tions, can lead to damage to the device and repre-
sent a serious danger to the user. Do not employ
the device for cutting hedges or shrubs.
The device is determined for use by adults. Adoles-
cents over 16 years may use the device only under
supervision.
The manufacturer is not liable for damages which
were caused through non-stipulated use or incor-
rect operation.
Fitting Instructions
Pull out the power plug before doing any
work on the device.
Employ only original parts and pay at-
tention to the line cutter during installa-
tion. Danger of injury!
1. Unpack the device and check whether it
is complete.
2. Place on the protective cover at the
bottom of the casing (1).
3. For ERT 45 Pro, ERT 55 Pro:
Screw on the front roller edging guide at
the bottom of the protective cover with
the two bolts delivered (2).
4. Attach the protective cover with the bolts
delivered.
5. Attach the additional grip (3).
