Notes on Safety
During the use of the machine, the
notes on safety are to be considered.
Before you work with the device, make
yourself familiar with all operating ac-
tuators. Practice handling the device
and have the function, operation and
working methods explained to you by a
practiced user or specialist. Make sure
that you can immediately shut off the
device in an emergency. Inappropriate
use of the device can lead to serious in-
juries.
Working with the electric lawn trimmer:
•
The device must not be employed by children.
In the same way, working with the device is
forbidden to persons who have not got com-
plete knowledge of the operating instructions.
Laws and local stipulations can determine a
minimum age for use.
•
Keep the device away from people, particularly
children and domestic animals and interrupt
your work if they come near. Always keep a
safety distance of 5 m around yourself. Stones
and gravel can be thrown off, which can cause
injuries.
•
Use suitable working clothes and personal pro-
tective equipment! Basically, wear protective
goggles or eye protection, protection for the
ears, boots or shoes with anti-slip sole and ro-
bust, long trousers, as well as working gloves.
•
Pay attention to maintaining a secure stance
during work. Be especially cautious while
working on a slope.
•
Do not work with the device when you are tired
or after taking alcohol or medication. Always
take a break in time.
•
Do not work in rain, bad weather or in a moist
environment. Work only if good lighting is
available.
•
Do not work with a device which is damaged,
incomplete or which has been altered without
the approval of the manufacturer. Never use
the device with defective protective equipment.
Before use, check the safety status of the de-
vice, in particular the power cable, the switch
and the protective covering.

sure trouble-free operation of the de-
vice.
•
Hold the cutting line at a distance from all parts
of the body, particularly the hands and feet,
when you turn on the motor and when the mo-
tor is running.
•
Do not start the device if it is in an inverted po-
sition or is not in working position.
•
Disconnect the motor and pull out the
plug:When you are not using the device, when
you leave it unattended, when you are clean-
ing it or transporting it from one location to the
other, when the current or extension cable is
damaged, when you are removing or replacing
the automatic cutter, as well as when you are
adjusting the length of the cutting line by hand.
•
Do not carry the device by the cable. Do not
use the cable in order to pull the plug from the
plug socket. Protect the cable against heat, oil
and sharp edges.
•
Make sure that the cutter head does not come in
contact with stones, gravel, wire or other foreign
bodies during the start-up and while working.
•
Pay attention to the line cutter. It can cause
serious laceration injuries.
•
Never attempt to stop the cutting equipment
(cutting line) with the hand. Always wait until it
stops by itself.
After switching off the device, the cutter
head still rotates for some seconds.
•
Employ only an original cutting line or original
blade. The utilization of a metal wire instead of
the plastic line is forbidden.
•
Do not use the device in order to cut grass that
is not on the ground e.g. grass that grows on
walls, rock etc.
•
Do not cross any gravel-strewn roadways or
paths with device still running.
•
Do not use the device near flammable liquids
or gases. In case of non-observance, fire or
danger of explosion exists.
•
Within the range of action, the user is respon-
sible for damages to third parties which have
been caused by the use of the device.
•
Ensure the vent holes have not been clogged up.
