Operating the Lawn
Trimmer
Do not employ the device without pro-
tective cover. Make sure that the device
is functional before every use. Note
carefully that the mains voltage agrees
with the label on the device. Always
wear eye protection while working with
the lawn trimmer.
Note noise protection and local specifica-
tions. The use of the device is on certain
days (e.g. Sundays and legal holidays),
during certain times of day (lunch hours,
night time quiet periods) or in special areas
(e.g. health resorts, clinics etc.) restricted
or forbidden.

Switching on and off

1. For the purpose of tension relief, make a
loop of the end of the extension cord and
lead this through the opening on the
upper grip (1) and suspend it from the
tension relief holder on the grip.
2. Connect the device to the mains voltage.
3. Pay attention to maintaining a secure
stance and hold the device firmly with
both hands. Do not place the cutter head
on the ground.
4. To switch on, press the on/off switch, the
lawn trimmer runs at its highest speed
(2). To switch off, release the switch
again.
After the switching the device off, the cutter
head still continues to rotate for some sec-
onds.
The On/Off switch must not be clamped.
The motor must switch off after releas-
ing the switch. If the switch should be
damaged, work must not be carried out
any longer with the machine.

The nylon line

Attention: Clean the cutting blade from
grass and debris on a regular basis to
avoid any influence of the cutting effect.
Double line with fully automatic system
(ERT 45 Pro, ERT 55 Pro)
Your device is equipped with a line fully automatic
system, i.e. the two lines are extended automati-
cally if a minimum length is fallen below. If, at the
beginning, the lines should be longer than the cut-
ting circle, they are automatically shortened to the
correct length by the blade of the line cutter.
Double line with tap'n go automatic system
(ERT 40 Pro)
Your device is equipped with a double line with
tap'n go automatic system, i.e. the two lines are ex-
tended when tapping the cutting head on the
ground. If, at the beginning, the lines should be
longer than the cutting circle, they are automati-
cally shortened to the correct length by the blade of
the line cutter.
Check the nylon line regularly if it is dam-
aged or if it still has the correct length of 9
cm.
When cutting performance deteriorates:
• Holf the running trimmer above a patch of
grass.
• Tap the cutting head on the ground. Note the
fresh line will be advanced only of line is still at
least 2,5 cm.
If the line is shorter than 2,5 cm:
• Switch off teh trimmer and disconnect plug
from power supply.
• Press in the spool an pull end of line firmly out-
wards.
If end of line is not visible:
• Replace the spool (see chap. "maintenance
and cleaning".

Recommendations for use

Cutting in the vertical plane (1):
With grip part rotated through 180°, you can also
cut in the vertical plane.
