any naked flames and cigarettes before filling the fuel tank. Do not operate any
electrical equipment while filling the fuel tank.
Boats with fixed fuel tanks have a filling hole located on the taffrail on the right
side of the boat. The Buster Cabin, X, Lx, and L Pro have visible filling holes.
Other Buster models have filling holes beneath the cover of the lockable rope box.
Detachable tanks must be lifted out of the boat for filling to ensure that fuel is not
able to spill into the bilge if the tank is overfilled.
If you refuel your boat at a petrol station, do not use a plastic funnel that prevents
the static charge between the pistol and the filler hole from discharging. After you
have filled the tank, make sure that no fuel has spilled into the bilge and clean up
any splashes of fuel immediately (see Fuel Tank Volume; Appendix 2: Technical
specifications).
There is space for the detachable fuel tank on the Buster L, M, Mcc, S, Scc, XS,
XSr, and Mini beneath the aft bench in the cockpit. The Buster L, M, and Mcc also
have space for a second tank. Do not store spare tanks in unventilated spaces or
unsecured. Equipment that contains fuel may only be stored in compartments that
are designed for the purpose.
Check the fuel lines annually for wear and tear. The locations of fuel system
components are presented in Appendix 3.
Fire-fighting and fire protection
5.7.2
The Buster Magnum M5, Magnum Pro, SuperMagnum, Magnum, Cabin, XXL, XL,
XL Pro, XLe, X, Le, Lx, L Pro, L, M, and Mcc are equipped with a 2 kg category
32A68B powder fire extinguisher as described in Appendix 3. On these boats, the
fire extinguisher is located on the left side of the storage area in the bow of the boat.
On the Buster Cabin, the fire extinguisher is located in the front-left of the covered
cockpit. On the Buster XLe Convertible, the fire extinguisher is beneath the rear
bench on the right side of the boat. On the Buster XLe, the fire extinguisher is by the
operator's feet. On the Buster Le, the fire extinguisher is by the passenger's feet.
The location of the extinguisher is indicated by a symbol that is visible in the cockpit.
All fire extinguishers are subject to annual inspection. Fire extinguishers older than
10 years must also pass a pressure test. If the original fire extinguisher is replaced,
the minimum extinguishing capacity of the new extinguisher must be 8A 68B
Always ensure that all fire-fighting equipment is easily accessible, whether the boat
is empty or loaded. Advise all crew members of the location and correct operation of
the fire-fighting equipment.
Make sure that no fuel spills into the bilge and check the boat for fuel leaks at
regular intervals. The smell of petrol is a clear sign of a fuel leak.
