4.2 Commissioning of sensors
4.2.1 Assignment of sensors

The sensors are identical and can be used on the left
or right of the measurement bay.

The assignment of the sensors is described in the
Online Help.

Make sure that only one sensor is initially connected
to the cable for the distributor box. Otherwise,
unequivocal assignment of the two sensors is not
possible. All LAN cables must be connected in both
sensors.

The measurement position is assigned on commis-
sioning (on left or right in direction of travel). This
must always be retained.
4.2.2 Sensor marking

Following assignment, affix the enclosed stickers (L
and R) for left and right to the sensors.

Correct sensor assignment and use on the correct
side of the workstation are prerequisites for proper
measurement operation.
4.3

Sensor set-up

4.3.1 Pit
1. When using the system in conjunction with a pit,
roughly align the sensors with the aid of the adjust-
ing feet.
2. The pit adapter kit contains strips which are to be at-
tached to the floor. Accuracy is ensured for repeated
setting-up of the sensors.

4.3.2 Lifting platform
1. Attach the adapter to the lifting platform in accor-
dance with the fitting instructions provided for each
version.
2. "Sensor set-up" is described under 4.1, 3.-11.

Take care not to damage any wiring when drilling
any holes required in the lifting platform or measure-
ment bay.

Route the wires of the wheel alignment unit such
that operation of the lifting platform is not impeded.
Make use of existing cable ducts.

Take care not to crush any cables. Short circuits
could damage the platform or the wheel alignment
system.
!
Make sure proper operation is guaranteed before
starting up the wheel alignment system and using
the lifting platform. Perform checking before driving
the vehicle into position.
