Switching on device

If the message "BATTERY FLAT" appears on the LCD
on switching on the device, the headlight tester has
to be charged with the battery charger. The device
can also be operated with the battery charger.
1. Press the "ON-OFF" key.

 The device is switched on.
2. The following hardware and software information is
displayed on sustained pressing of the "ON-OFF" key:

Card type,
$
Communication protocol,
$
Firmware version.
3. The device displays the date of the last annual
check (calibration) of the headlight tester for a few
seconds.

Individual testing

This function can be used to test individual headlamps.

The inclination of the headlamp cut-off must be in
accordance with legal requirements:
$
For low beams max. 80 cm from the ground, the
inclination must be at least 1 %.
$
For low beams more than 80 cm from the ground,
the inclination must be at least 1.5 %.
Individual test procedure:
1. Read off the cut-off inclination specified by the
manufacturer (e.g. 1.2 %) from the top of the
headlamp.
2. Set the scale ring on the light box accordingly.

Testing of the right or left headlamp is always based
on the direction of travel.

The low beam headlamp can then be tested.
