5.6.1

Testing low beam headlamp

Procedure:
1. Enter the type of low beam:
Select the type (halogen, xenon or LED) with the
"UP" and "DOWN" keys and confirm with ENTER.
2. Confirm with ENTER.

The LCD shows the following information:

Type of headlamp (low beam),
R
Status of headlamp:
$
"o " outside tolerance (upwards)
$
"u " outside tolerance (downwards)
$
"v" outside tolerance (to right)
$
"z" outside tolerance (to left)
$
"OK" (centred)
$
"-- -- --" insufficient light for testing,
$
Luminous intensity.
3. Adjust the headlamp until the device displays "OK".
The headlamp projection can be checked inside the
light box.

Press ENTER to test the high beam headlamp.
5.6.2

Testing high beam headlamp

Procedure:
1. Enter the type of high beam:
Select the type (halogen or xenon) with the "UP" and
"DOWN" keys and confirm with ENTER.
 When "ENTER" appears on the LCD, the device is
ready for checking the high beam headlamp.
2. Press ENTER to start the test.

The low beam must be checked again if the high
beam headlamp with integrated optical unit is not
within the limits in spite of adjustment. Repeat the
test as described above to check the optical unit on
the opposite side.
5.6.3

Testing fog lamp

A query about whether the fog lamp is to be tested
appears on the display.
Procedure:
1. Use the "UP" and "DOWN" arrow keys to select
whether or not the test is to be performed. If yes,
proceed as follows.
2. Read off the cut-off inclination specified by the
manufacturer (e.g. 1.2 %) from the top of the
headlamp.
3. Set the scale ring accordingly on the light box.
4. Check the vertical inclination and luminous intensity
of the fog lamp.
5. Repeat the checks on the other side of the vehicle.

On completion of testing, the device can transfer the
data to a PC if this function is installed.
